Fear not...
You are such a tease.....
now I have another thing to wait for!
I just think Matt knows how much I love the Border Kingdoms, and he's decided to string me along with this tease of a tidbit. |

I would purchase a whole regional supplement on the Border Kingdoms if it were available.
Had plans once to compile all the articles posted on the WotC site, put them through layout on the 3e era FR book background and turn them into a nice PDF. Of course the Spellplague hit, the rest of the articles were never put up on the site, and I lost interest. |

I'm a huge fan of the Border Kingdoms as well. As much as they are subject to change (politically) they have a lot of very cool historical parts to it. As well, it is just jam-packed with story potential.
If I were to write a Forgotten Realms novel, the story would take place in the Border Kingdoms. |

The Border kingdoms is an excellent region to get the 'good in any era' lore treatment, because of its very nature.
Sossal, Shaareach, Altumbel, Murghôm, Threskel, Orlumbar, Tharsult, and Ashanath are also very good regions for this.
Erlkazar, Lake of Steam, Chult, Lantan, Nimbral, and Semphar to a lesser extent, but still worthy candidates.
Once you get into the Heartlands, the lore has to become more era-specific, which works against their stated goal of 'sourcebooks for any era'. |

Okay, right a novel that destroys the Moonsea and turns the entire region into a blasted wasteland.
Gotcha. |

Well to be fair, to "right" that novel, he'd need to research the one that "wronged" it |

That was a rather poor way for me to ask if that was something you aspired to do.
I would say that we all hope your asked....soon! |

Tell the WotC staff, and tell them often--especially James Wyatt ;)
Truthfully, you're not likely to see any new authors for awhile. Established ones will be used while output level is low.
..I'll keep trying though! |

Any particular "state" of the "Kingdoms," Matt?

Indeed. As I've said many a time... one of the selling points for the Border Kingdoms, at least for me, is due to the region being, perhaps more so than any other part of the established Realms, designed to be easily customised for particular and/or individual home Realms campaigns -- complete with swiftly shifting borders and ever-changing rulers. So there's plenty of room for changes and/or the addition of new details for your game. |

I don't suppose any updates have occurred in the last 10 months that I simply haven't seen elsewhere |
