I have a question about the character on the 2nd Edition book "Forgotten Realms Adventures" where a maiden is riding a unicorn in front of two dark towers.
Who is this?
I ask because I have plans to MAKE HER SOMEONE very soon...but I wanted to make sure I wasn't stealing an idea already developed.
the painting is titled "Allisa of the Mists" by Clyde Caldwell. I've never heard the name before though, and it's possible that she has nothing to do with the realms at all
Quite a number of the pictures of this age actually represented novel folk (e.g. Alias of Westgate or Bruenor), but some are just covers suitable for the place, setting et al. No reference to this one at all AFAIK, though Kuje might have come across her in his NPC list project.

I think it was just a generic piece they decided to run with as the cover. I used to have a poster of that -- I think it came with one of the boxed sets, or maybe one of the older issues of Dragon.
I've often wondered what the deal is with the round red gem that finds its way into almost every Caldwell painting.
