Greetings scribes, I've been struggling of late to find any enthusiasm for the projects I had been working on - the whole 4E furore really dented my motivation. But I'm going to try and push on with some stuff this weekend...and what better place to try and rekindle my love affair with the realms than the underdark? Which is where I need the help of the keep's encyclopedic knowledge. I'm looking for all references to Mantol-Derith excluding "the Underdark" sourcebook. I remember it was also featured in WotSQ but I can't remember which book - a pointer to that would be handy too. Cheers,
Have a look at the Menzoberranzan boxed set, TSR 1083 and especially in the Book three. About the novels, I need few minutes to check my thoughts and I come back to confirm which one deals with it...
The city is quoted in the Realms of Underdark and Condemnation novels
"Today is a good day to smile", Fillow Big'n'Book Mahlemiut 'Lead-dog', Son of Garl, Wanderer of the Masked Leaf and Namer of Oghma.
The Menzo box is the most detailed account, Underdark brushes it up somewhat. SOme changes during the Silence happened there too, one would also expect that the passing of the army which was defeated at the GAtes of Menzoberranzan left a mark too.
As for 4E ... no need to play anywhere near now and then. Set your campaign in e.g. 1200 (like I do) and you have lots of time to work with, even though the gloom & doom hangs about your characters. (If you let that happen at all, of course.)
