Can someone guide me to a fairly definitive timeline of the 'Plague, ie when it started, when it was at its peak, when it ended? Can't seem to run across a clear timeline in either the FRPG or the FRCS.

My latest Realms-based short story, about a bard, a paladin of Lathander and the letter of the law, Debts Repaid. It takes place before the "shattering" and gives the bard Arion a last gasp before he plunges into the present.http://candlekeep.com/campaign/logs/log-debts.htm |

There isn't any.
Basically...
1. In 1385, Mystra is killed and the Spellplague happens 2. S__t happens 3. 1479 and the beginning of 4e (basically #2 again)
Thats it - thats all they've given us. Supposedly, from what I gather, the worst of the effects hit the first year, and most in the first few weeks. The next couple of decades were kinda rocky, and then the next few after that things start leveling out (new forms of magic learned, new martial diciplines begin to spread, etc...)
And then by the time 1479 DR/4e comes along, everything (except the Plaguewrought Lands) has stabilized.
That incredibly bare-bones setup is all we have to work with - this is because WotC does NOT want people playing through the Spellplague, but rather they start the game after it is over.
And as I've said so many times before, its beyond me why they thought people wouldn't want to play through an age in Faerūn when heroes are needed the most. |
