There was a small glass window in the painted oaken door that beheld the walls of the inn. I was scared still: I had been the master of evil for centuries, yet I felt as if pain and hell had gone from my body. The voice: it was plaging me again, the mystical voice that enjoyed tempting me to resist the temptation to hurt someone or offend again. But I wouldn't. I was sure of that. I peered through the little window in the door: I couldn't see very well at all for the mist of my headache was making my eyes sore. There was a variety of wooden chairs in the room of an inn: huge ones for sages, finger sized ones for fairies, and man sized ones for people like me. People like me, the people that enjoy being refused to talk to.. "Don't think like that!" I shouted to myself over my headache, still an earsplitting ache that was sore around my temples. I said it rather too loud, though. A man three times the size of me, with a gruff beard that descended to his stomach, and a pipe in one hand full of magic smoke came to the door. He was much too big for the inn: a near giant, but one who remained of a manly nature. The door swung open, falling through the fog that had arisen in the inn: purple smoke, pink smoke, white smoke.... "Deary me, fair traveller! Can I help you at all?" He said his words with care, words that sounded perfect and mellow, going with the flow of his gruff but kindly voice. I was anxious to know why people were being so kind to me.. Me? People humane to me? A work of evil under the ground of Faerun? "Oh," I said, mournfully. "Oh. Would you really help me? You see, I've had an experience with the judge of all evil and good, the shadowmaster, the voice! I have nowhere to go, for when the things I did occured, the lords of Faerun sent out the army of scribes and banned me from all public places, and it triggered me to do more damage, and I was burning inside my own body, and I killed, and I-" A thick arm six times the size of the staff I was carrying slammed me on the shoulder twice. "Aye aye aye, slow down, fair warrior, you're speaking like a flock of sparrows in a gold mine! Come in, and have a rest. You need food for the night, and at the very least you need to have a beardful of foaming brew, freshly made by Lexi. Come in, have a rest." The man pushed me inside. I was in safety. I had forgotten what safety was, always living on the edge of exasperation... When I was inside, I saw what a home it was.. It couldn't have been an inn, yet it was? The inside walls were timber, full of pictures and paintings of dragon taming and staff fights and duels. A bed lay in the corner. Many candles were in the corners of the rooms, and I could smell the wax burning in my nose. Along the eastern wall was a set of benches, with ash trays the size of elfchildren. Four, maybe even five men sat there, each with flagons of mead on one hand, and woman long pipes in their other hands. Nobody spoke; they were too busy enjoying the inn's merriments. But they nodded.. What more could you expect?

This will be continued tomorrow. Yes, I know it's not as exciting as part One, but I have to progress in to excitement: if one has no conclusions or introductions, stories would not have any sense. Please bear with me on this one, I really take writing seriously and I am a perfectionist... Read the next part tomorrow!

Thanks everyone
Omega

If I may make a suggestion. Perhaps you should try to keep all the parts to this story in the one thread. It will make it much easier for people to follow.

I have yet to read the first parts, but well done. It is quite intriguing. I will be sure to read the other two parts.

Life is like a box of chocolates. Once you eat the poisoned one you die.
