Anybody have this comic? How many were there? 2? Were they any good?

You mean the Forbidden Sands of Anauroch? Yep, I've got them... That was something else I had to buy twice. There's a pair of them on eBay right now, too.
It was supposed to be a 6 issue series, but there were only two comics. Oddly, both of them are hardback! I don't know the reasoning behind either of those two things.
Sadly, neither the story or the artwork are all that hot. I might give as much as $15 for the pair, but $10 would be more reasonable, I think. |

It was okay, not great. It was starting to get interesting when all the DC/TSR comics ended.
For the other titles by DC/TSR...
Dragonlance was okay; some of the story arcs were good, but the comic suffered because I don't think they knew what they wanted to do with it. They kept hopping about, focusing first on one protagonist in one story arc, and then another in the next. Then they focused on one (and I liked the other, better), but then couldn't seem to decide when to set the stories. One story arc had her as an old lady, telling a tale of the ancient past, and then the next, she was back to the youngish 20-something she was originally intro'ed as... As I recall, the comic did eventually settle into one timeframe focusing on Riva, but I don't recall finding the stories all that memorable.
Forgotten Realms and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons were both pretty good. There were a few stories that weren't great, but overall, both titles were quite enjoyable. And they're canon:

The DC comics were part of continuity. At least they were at one time. We reviewed them inhouse at TSR as if they were.

I see them on eBay pretty frequently. When I had to replace mine, it took three eBay purchases: one for all of the AD&D comics, one for all but one of the FR comics, and one final one for that one missing FR book. |

You'll also find that nobleknight.com tends to stock most of the comics for each series regularly as well. It's where I picked up the few DL comics I was missing. |
