Hello fellow scribes and DMs!

After getting a hook on this devil princess in the Fiendish Codex II I dug a bit deeper and found a number of scrolls which shed a bit, but not much detail on her. Now, as existing Archdevils and Abyssal Lords are not exactly what I am looking for, Ed Greenwood's article on the princesses of Hell gave me the required inspiration. Some of the lasses in there have had their appointments with fate by now, but a few are still out and about, Baalphegor looks the most interesting of them. Hence, I choose her as a patroness of a few sects and cults on Toril and if people would like to share ideas on how such a cult or worship would look like, feel free to lend me a helping hand. To get you an idea whom I am talking about, let me share with you an excerpt on Baalphegor from Dragon 76:

quote:
BAALPHEGOR (Princess of Hell)

Baalphegor is consort to Mephistopheles, and a most highly regarded she-devil. Personally attractive (and a practiced diplomat), she is charming in manner and artful in thought; she has invented many of the strategies and devices used in the hells. Asmodeus regards her
as one of his most valuable assets, and tolerates the machinations of Mephistopheles largely because of her. Baalphegor's own desires are seldom revealed; she appears loyal to the hells and devoted to Mephistopheles, and manages to avoid making a distinction between the two.
human, save for her ruby-red eyes, forked tail, and slim, delicate leathery wings. Her feet are human in appearance, and she is sleek and curvaceous, with cinnamon-brown skin. She appears young and carefree, but when angered her light voice can crack like a whip, and her eyes flash fire.

I think I read somewhere that she is more than just a princess of hell, having been there ever since Hell was "founded". Any ideas, whether on her cults and their locations in Faerūn, clerical domains, adventure hooks or cultist hideouts are welcome.

Apart from Dragon #76, have a look into Dragon #91.
But I'm not able to tell you what sort of lore you will find there. Sorry.

Thanks for the info ... it says that Baalphegor is pronounced /Bahl - feh -gor/ (Which I assume is to help native speakers of English, leaving the rest contemplating whether it is rhyming with "sea" or "fae").

BTW, since you ask for it in the signature: the way you worded your reply is quite nice. The cheeky-tongued may write 50 more replies like this saying: "And look into Dragon 56, 178, 179 to 199, but I don't know what sort of lore you will find in there." ;)

I do own the Book of Vile Darkness and the Fiendish Codices, so any suggestions from those books, regarding described cults or PrC, are welcomed.

I've taken a look at Lilith on the WotC site and will go on from there.

Has anyone a good idea (possibly backed by rules) why this lass (Lilith) is restricted to handing out only divine spells up to 5th level?

In addition, as I have just finished a little campaign about a fiendish princess, the stats of the latter and a little story will be put onto the DnD-Gate's site soon. Afterwards, it's back to Baalphegor.

Judgrimg by the spelling and source, I think the middle syllable should be pronounced "F long A," but "F long E" would probably be acceptable in many dialects. The safest bet is to and constrain some relatively minor devil and force it to give you what SHE considers the correct pronunciation -- that beats the heck out of mis-pronouncing her name while trying to summon her! She might prefer "F schwa" as the pronunciation, and she's not one to miss-call, that's for sure!
