Ok, so we know issue 1 & 2 are Drizzt Do’Urden (Dark Mirror) and Raistlin Majere (The Legacy.)

Issue 3's preview is out..

In “Elminster at the Magefair,” a mysterious and dangerous errand takes the Sage of Shadowdale and the lovely Storm Silverhand to a gathering of the Forgotten Realms’ mightiest wizards, while “The Rigor of the Game” pits a gambler in the nightmare-haunted domains of Ravenloft against the infamous death knight, Lord Soth.

We'll assume that like 1 & 2, Magefair and Rigor will span 3&4. I'm hoping Elaine and Arilyn gets some treatment in 5. :)

Now when do the original stories start! :)

"Evil prevails when good men fail to act."
The original and unapologetic Arilyn, Aribeth, Seoni Fanboy.

El at the Magefair is going to be reprinted again? Man, twice wasn't enough?

Nevermind. Didn't realize these were the new comics. :)

For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet and excite you... Books are full of the things that you don't get in real life - wonderful, lyrical language, for instance, right off the bat. - Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Well, that's this month.

I forgot to look for these when I was at the comic shop yesterday. Though, given the fortnightly delay between comic releases in the US and Australia, I'll probably have to wait until next month.

I'll wait until I go to pick up TRO 3039 to see if the comic is out yet.

Where do you guys find actual comic book stores? I can find store with comics in them, but not a whole store filled with the things! *sigh* I hate Michigan...

I'm kinda lucky in that regard. My local gaming store also carries most of the comic titles I purchase each month.

There's a decent few stores online though, Aravine. Alternatively, you could just try the DDP website direct.

My comic guy has been in business for over 20 years, so most of us have known about him over the years. :)

I dunno, beyond that try the yellow pages?

Here's three site I found with a quick search for michigan comic stores.

http://www.michiganweb.com/comicbooks.html

http://www.comicstores.net/michigan_comic_stores.htm

http://www.the-master-list.com/USA/Michigan/index.shtml

There were more listed but I only took the 1st three.

Depends on where you are in Michigan. I live in Lansing, and we've got Clem's Collectables downtown on Michigan Ave. I've picked up most of the FR comics from them.

The first issue shipped today. It's available now at your local comics retailer.

We're getting caught up on the schedule. In fact, we have the stories locked in through issue 8 (and, yes, there will be an Arilyn story in there).

Some of the stories are 40 pages and will be split over two issues. Some will only run 20 pages. "Dark Mirror" runs in 1 and 2. "Elminster at the Magefair" runs in 3 and 4. My adaptation of my Lord Soth/Ravenloft story "The Rigor of the Game" runs as a 20-pager in #3.

Cheers,

Neat. As much as I am excited about the Realms tale, I'm even more ecstatic over the prospect of a RAVENLOFT story. Bring on #3, and #4.

devilsdue.net leaves a lot to be desired (previews don't work, link to WoD&DA doesn't work), but I'll still grab the comics if I see them.

And the "Contact Site Administrator" also doesn't work. Nice.

Hi:

I just checked it, and the site came up fine. The preview was here:
http://devilsdue.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=161&Itemid=51

The 6 preview pages all came up.

I clicked all the way to the site contact and that seemed to work, too.

Perhaps you hit things when they was down.

If you're still having problems, let me know and I'll pass along the concerns to DDP.

Well... I hit the FLGS last week, but they didn't have it. So I swung by my old comic book store, only to find it was no longer there! After looking online, I found they had moved to a much better location (corner spot in a plaza that's at the corner of two of the busiest roads in the area). We ran by there today; 'twas the first time I'd been into the store in more than 3.5 years, but the guy who owns it recognized me on the spot!

It's going to be a week and a half before they get the comic in for me. They had it, but had only ordered a few, since they expected the FLGS to have more of a demand for it.

When I hit my local comics store yesterday, I was immediately told that all the copies they had of WoD&D had sold out already. It's going to take about two weeks to ship-in new copies.

It's something I should've done last month, since I also added a number of new titles to my regularly monthly subscription. I don't know why I forgot about WoD&D though.

Senility. Big Al is rubbing off on you.

Evil Rick asked if there was any other titles I wanted held... But I think I'm totally done with comics, this time around (I've quit comics multiple times before). I'm happy with the manga I read, and the majority of the comics market is superhero stuff, which I got bored with. I do find myself curious about a couple of titles I used to read (I never saw what happened with Rising Stars or Y The Last Man), but not curious at this time enough to track down the TPBs. And some Marvel titles still appeal to me, but I remember how annoyed with them when I was reading them...

"Worlds of D&D" ... heck, that almost made me fall over till I realized you were speaking of comics. It's bad enough that 4E goes WoW.

Alas, it seems that it is a hit amongst (one would hope) the younger generation and may draw some of them to the tables.

For those keeping score at home, the first trade paperback of Worlds of Dungeons & Dragons shipped last week. It contains issues #1 and 2 of the series (so the complete stories "Dark Mirror" and "The Legacy"), plus the stand-alone Eberron comic Eye of the Wolf, which was scripted by Eberron creator Keith Baker. The trade is 120+ pages.

Issue #3 of Worlds of D&D features the first half of the Realms classic "Elminster at the Magefair" (with script by Jeff Grubb), and the entire Lord Soth-related Ravenloft tale "The Rigor of the Game" (with script by me). It should be at the printer already and available in the next few weeks.

I believe Devil's Due is going to have a booth at Gen Con again this year. They sell convention special covers of some of the books, in addition to the regular editions. If you get a chance, drop by the booth.

Cheers,
Jim Lowder

Very nice I will surely try to get mine there!!

I see that signature all the time. Unimpressive, really

I'm doing a signing at the Paizo booth on Saturday with Ed Greenwood, Paul Kemp, Mike Stackpole, and Greg Stolze, so you could bring anything you want defaced there. Not certain what Devil's Due has planned.

I had that signature, on one of the old TSR bookmarks. But it was yet another victim of the fire... I also had a copy of Dragonlance Adventures with Tracy Hickman's signature in there.
