Greetings,
Has anybody studied the new Master Harper PrC on the FR site yet. I thought it was actually well designed, and doesn't seem to be that bad an addition to a Harper campaign. This is one FR web update I am actually eager to use in my upcoming campaigns. Ed Greenwood and Skip Williams have done some good work on this class.
For those that haven't seen it yet, it's located here.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think about it,
Good learning...

I was actually thinking the same thing when I read it. At first I had just assumed it was Silver Marches, but that didn't seem to fit. Maybe it was supposed to be in the FRCS.
May your learning be free and unfettered

Now this is a prestige class. It has some really cool abilities. Eldath's Landtouch, Lycanbane and Deneir's Orel are the ones that stand out for me. Although I really like the spell gain at every level too. It seems fairly balanced as well, since the more powerful and useful abilities are at the higher levels. I also really like the limitation put on the class that only by a majority vote of any 12 senior Harpers or the approval of the High Harpers can you learn the knowledge needed to gain this class. Good job to Greenwood and Williams!
Hey Cyric.... Yes we are... and proud of it. Without us, people like you and your kind would have taken control of the Realms long ago. Get used to us chumley. We will be there when you least expect it to foil any evil plan you might devise! Hahaha! |

Neat stuff - I particularly like the sort of "forced roleplay" required to acquire the class (petitioning the Harpers). |
My latest Realms-based short story, about a bard, a paladin of Lathander and the letter of the law, Debts Repaid. It takes place before the "shattering" and gives the bard Arion a last gasp before he plunges into the present.http://candlekeep.com/campaign/logs/log-debts.htm |

The link above doesn't work. Try this one instead. The PrC is great! It seamlessly blends roleplaying and gaming qualities, and is quite balanced. It seems like Magic of Faerun would be what it was cut out of, considering there are two other Harper PrCs in that book... |
