<Lorne - I know you'll find this... LEAVE NOW!>

I'm running a campaign in which one of the Tharcions of Thay have discovered one of the Imaskarcana and has manipulated a group of adventurers into tracking down the other 6 for her. The group has "escaped" Thay and have recently entered Skuld. They were petitioned (or rather "asked politely" as they broke several laws of the City) to help in the cleansing of the catacombs.

At any rate, they have completed their mission and are about to get back on the road to Candlekeep (to find out more information on the Imaskarcana). However, I need a good idea for the next "mini campaign". I don't know the region really well, so even if someone could point me to some good books with good information for the Eastern Mulhoround area...

At any rate, the party consists of:

7 Bard
1 Ranger / 5 Cleric / 1 Paladin
7 Wizard (Diviner)
6 Ranger / 1 Sorc
7 Fighter
7 Paladin
7 Monk

Thanks everyone!

Thinking of 3.5 sources:
Unapproachable East should have some informion that will help. Other than that, you can really expand on what is there. I'm sure another scribe or three knows more than me, though.

And before I start on the campaign ideas, how does your party feel about the Red Wizards? Just curious here, but there could be some fun and interesting plot twists if they like or dislike them (meeting and greeting people is great fun). Although traveling across Faerun to Candlekeep would put them into interesting positions all the way across

You know, the whole Cult of Set storyline with Suliyar the Rakshasha never really came about. Obviously he didn't manage to replace the Pharoah . . . or did he? At any rate, if he failed, but was never discovered, there could be a band of Rakshasha working for the Cult of Set committing murders and undermining the other gods of Mulhorand while shifting shape left and right.

You know, if they are outsiders, its possible that the shapeshifters could always pin some of the murders on the "newcomers" as well . . .

A copy of The Horde boxed set will prove useful. You'll also find a few tidbits in the "The Horde" article of DRAGON #349 and its associated PDF supplement from paizo.com. Lost Empires of Faerūn and a few historical entries in Grand History of the Realms are worthwhile sources as well.

Excellent! Thanks everyone.

And for the record, the PCs absolutely despise the Red Wizards. They started out as slaves in a mine in Thay.

*inserts evil laugh here*

So, there are those that know of the plot to manipulate the PC's, I'm sure. Let the PC's find out they're being manipulated (but not who's doing it), the PC's will play along for a while... then they'll hunt down the manipulator(s). At that point, you show how well-prepared the Red Wizards really are, or how much they underestimated the PC's (your choice).

Then, with a proper twist, the PC's can become champions for freedom fighters in Thay, or they can find the artifact for themselves.
