Alaundo,

How many folks do we have running 'round these walls at any given time?

My latest Realms-based short story, about a bard, a paladin of Lathander and the letter of the law, Debts Repaid. It takes place before the "shattering" and gives the bard Arion a last gasp before he plunges into the present.http://candlekeep.com/campaign/logs/log-debts.htm

Of course, that's minus all the members who haven't posted or have left. But then, it's in addition to the people who haven't joined up. So . . . guess we've got to take that number.

Well Met

Indeed there are around 660 members of Candlekeep, of course some have left and others tend to sit quietly studying At one time, the most online was 28 at the same moment (this was on 31 Jul 2003). It may not sound a great deal, but think about 28 of you at one time.....that would sure create a hell of a lot of noise for a library

Huh. I hadn't even noticed that the record had been beaten. It had been 25 since before I'd joined, and I stopped looking at it to see if it changed . . . .

Alaundo, does this cause problems for the Library's server or can it handle loads greater than this with ease?

Not a problem at all, William. The library is on a dedicated server which has just been upgraded. Futhermore, the forum will be moved onto a more efficient SQL server soon to provide a much better service than current.

Ahhha, a new record has been set for the number of members on the Candlekeep forums at any one time, being 30. This occured on 29 Oct 2003 at 20:02 GMT. This total does not include visitors to Candlekeep, only the forums.

Now get back to work!

Confound it...

Once again, the record was set while the Sage of Perth was otherwise engaged in non-sagely duties...

The Astral conduit that I had constructed between Candlekeep and my 'Tower' in Australia may have been the wrong choice for 'speedy' planar transportation...

Once again, the record has been beat for the number of scribes in this area of Candlekeep at any one time...

Being a grand 45 set on 20 Dec 2003 at 07:34. The noise from those quills scribbling on scrolls must have been deafening

Alaundo, what about deleting all the old 0 posts accounts that havent been active in 6 months? Its a pain really. Plus it will free up usernames for new members! Not to mention reduce the size of the forums, even if slightly!

just an idea!

Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore-
While i nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

Well, if you need any help, I'm sure you could find some in our ranks to assist you. I scribble fast, so my workload here is done rather quickly, leaving me a bit of free time. I'm sure there are also others in a similar situation.

Does this ever growing list include having new beverages delivered to your private wine cellar. I'm tired of seeing the same old vintages there and, ummm, well, I never visited your private wine cellar, Alaundo, Never!
