Greetings scribes. I return!

A player character in my portal-hopping game has been attempting to Contact Other Plane to meet an archfey- any archfey- that will accept their contact and admit power for a certain fey ritual. This has failed repeatedly for both the standard saving throw versus insanity that the spell forces- but also it has failed due to the mage using an erratic magic item to allow them the ability to cast the Contact Other Plane spell in the first place. This went on for days in-game (spanning adventures across the material planes, the outlands, and the hells) which gave the impression that NONE of the Archfey are taking calls from this mage.

Then, one picks up the phone. I improvised and said this Entity sounded as if they were under the effect of Imprisonment. The idea being that this is an Entity that cannot normally be contacted by magic and the Mage had stumbled upon an intentionally forgotten immortal creature by blind force.

I am creating a murky, inky-dark male Archfey that is despised by all courts- a dangerous Half-LeShay sealed via Minimus Containment and left on a pedestal in some fey realm. Their parents would be a LeShay and the Queen of Air and Darkness. I'm not sure if it makes more sense to have the child be created before or after the fall of the Queen. What comes to your minds, Sages, if I suggest you conceive of a child of Rose and Diamond?

[Alternative Path]
Ghaunadaur is included in the Dark Seladrine in this classic art piece. I do not treat the Elder Eye as a mere sylvan lord, but if he posed as one for a time he may have had a child. Any LeShay who courted him must have been absolutely mad..

-Looking at the Ghaunadaur path, it is a "member" of the Dark Seldarine because, tens of thousands of years ago, it was worshiped by some of the most ancient known Dark Elves on Faerun. Evermeet: Island of Elves doesn't specifically go into details about how or why those Dark Elves started worshiping Ghaunadaur. These Elves pre-dated the Sun/Moon Elves in coming to Realmspace by two thousand years give or take if I am remembering it correctly, and when the Sun/Moon Elves started interacting with the Dark Elves, Ghaunadaur's worship was firmly entrenched. That's a few Elven generations, so there's very much a chance that Ghaunadaur may have sunk its tentacles into them before coming to Realmspace, on Faerie. If so, those Dark Elves might not have been the only ones it was looking to corrupt (kind of what Ghaundaur does!), so other, more powerful, Sylvan creatures being touched by it, or being born by it, is certainly possible.

I always praise Snowblood in moments like these- for they have an expansive set of tomes on the subject of the ancient elves. The coastal dark elves were very impressive and the sinking of their capital was dreadful.
Though the dark elves are remembered for their wars with the gold/sun elves of the north, they had already dominated their southern neighbors in fantastic fashion. Alao, Clan Hune Ghaunadaur stuff is..

Not the ones Gdaur wanted to touch.. That fits the unfortunate dark elves greatly. I can see Gdaur using them as some form of stepping stone to reach the LeShay. Imagine Gdaur petitions the lieurwood elces and the sea elves and the wild elves- half elves of the far east maybe. None of them bite, but the Dark Elves do. They never ask questions and always dive fully in to their work. The entire dark elf empire may be due to a false confidence from a god they immediately claimed as theirs. Gdaur wanted to find the real movers and shakers of Abeir-Toril in the form of the LeShay. When he spoke to the Dark Elves they insisted that, No great Sir. I promise you. We are all you need...

Maybe this Archfey is less of a LeShay and more of a... Not-Fallen Dark Elf? One who, out of devotion or suspicion, went to Faerie to learn more about the beast that the Ilithyri had proclaimed their savior?
