I have a Lore question about Lliira. While recruiting for my Chondath game, one of my players is playing a Warpriest of Lliira (we are playing Pathfinder 1e). However, I thought only Talos, Tempus, and possibly Tyr invested Warpriests. However, the player justified his choice by telling me that there is an organization of militant priests within Lliira's priesthood. So I allowed the character to be a Warpriest.
Question is: is he right? Does Lliira invest Warpriests who worship her?

Are you thinking of Scarlet Mummers? They are not necessarily spellcasters and do not fit the trope of armored templars. I would depict a Scarlet Mummer more as a chaotic good version of Harley Quinn. They operate as much as assassins as warriors against the forces of evil, particularly Loviatans. I hope this helps you. |

Yes, Delnyn, that was what he mentioned. Thanks! |

Let your player know each Scarlet Mummer is personally monitored by Llira herself. For all a Scarlet Mummer's power and independence from what passes for church hierarchy, she must obey direct orders regardless of personal wants and conveniences. This obedience is every bit as strict as a Hammer of Grimjaws paladin getting a direct order from Tyr. |

Okay, I'll let him know that before the start of their first adventure. |

To note, I absolutely cannot see a Lliiran war priest wearing things like plate armor. For instance, the Scarlet Mummers were basically "dance fighters" with blade boots, etc... I'd be hard pressed to say "warpriest".... more inclined to say maybe "multiclassed with rogue, fighter, etc.... |

Do you intend for the "internal conflict" between Lliira's pacifist ideals and Warpriest's combat role to be part of your character's development? I think that could be a really cool way to highlight differences in your campaign. |

Scarlet Mummers are not Warpriests. They would be back from common non-violent to the average militant priest, except they indeed should be Dex based, so less like warriors and more like assassins or maybe swashbuckler bard (non-spellcasting) types. |

This.
If they have any PrCs, I'd see them with levels in Divine Seeker (3E FRCS/3.5 PGtF).
Still, if the DM and/or player were to utilize rules from Power of Faerun, they could create a heresy of Lliira that is more militant than the rest with different cleric domains and/or alignment that reflect such. |

If the Warpriest in question is the same one as featured in the 3.5 Edition Complete Divine, then let's not forget that requires the Destruction, Protection, Strength or War domains. Lliira has none of those, so said Cleric shouldn't qualify. They would still be able to, say, become one of the following no problem: - Divine Champion - Divine Disciple - Divine Seeker (as previously mentioned) - Hierophant There might be others, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. |

Maybe something close to Nightsong Enforcer (Complete Adventurer), Dervish or Drunken Master (Complete Warrior); via searching dndtools for classes with Tumble. |

Maybe. Still, I had suggested in my thread of adapting Core PrCs to the Realms (that didn't already had adaptation suggestions) about the Nightsong Enforcer that it could likely be adapting to an existing guild, notably Spysong. Also, I more recently suggested adapting the Drunken Master to obviously be associated (obviously) with Dwarves but otherwise assocation with the churches of Loviatar or (more so) Ilmater, namely the sect that revered Saint Dionysus. |
