Yes, read it recently, and I must say that the book is very good. The story emphasizes character building in a small group of adventurers, in a way that I have not seen often in previous Realms novels. It addresses relevant locations, such as Waterdeep and Candlekeep. There are some points that I found a little implausible, but it is not even close to some of the worst novels from the setting. Overall, has a good pace. I have participated in several discussions in this forum about the decrease of Realms novels lately, something bizarre, considering the high demand for fantasy genre. However, it seems that Hasbro is slowly outsourcing publishers to release a few (the Fallbacks will have a sequel in 2025).This is a reasonable consolation to me. BTW: the otyugh pet is not as nearly as bad as it sounds. |
