Hi,

In case you have not noticed WotC has been removing D&D content from the wizards dot com website.

Archive dot wizards was shut down a while ago. The Dragon Plus content was deleted after that. Now they are deleting most of the wizards dot com content for D&D (including early 5e content).

So some of the links you have on the Tethtoril's Bookshelf section no longer work.

Is there any chance you could ask someone with access to start going through the pages and replacing dead links with Wayback Machine links?

I'm doing something similar for the D&D information page at The Piazza (The Book-House on The Piazza). I'm only part way through doing the Forgotten Realms section and the website over there was "under construction" so some products are missing. But if you can save time by harvesting Wayback Machine links from over there, please do.

Here is the link to the tag page that links to all the FR content over there:
https://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bookhouse/doku.php/tag/forgotten_realms

I know this is a lot of work, and you can't do it all in a day. But hopefully this will help you take a few shortcuts.

BTW: Thanks for Tethtoril's Bookshelf. It's been very useful to me in the past.

Well met

Many thanks, Big Mac.

Yes there is a good amount of clean up to undertake across the site, including a lot of dead link removals; it's on the list.

I fear much lore will be lost, and Candlekeep did retain a fair few past scrolls, but not all. Sad the way things have turned out in this respect, but such is the way of the world.

It is always worth checking dead links with the Wayback Machine, before removing them:
https://web.archive.org/

I have discovered many amazing D&D websites, that used to be online, but now only exist as copies in the Wayback Machine, after visiting a current D&D website where the administrator has gotten busy and not cleared out their dead links.

It's a bit like going to an online version of the Shadowfell and being able to visit Evernight. Just as Evernight is like a memory of what Neverwinter was or could be, these old versions of D&D fansites exist in a mirror of the Internet that has been suspended in time.

I guess the Wayback Machine is like an online version of the library at Candlekeep, and they horde copies of rare scrolls, where the original scrolls are no longer around.

I just automatically redirect anything from wizards domain (and other defunct sites), HTTPSAlways only needs a few tweaks, and then
