So I'm not asking for help this time I got a question which D&D system is better to play and DM, D&D 5E or 2024?.

Personally I never played D&D 5E or 2024 yet, but I like 5E because so much has released for the system.

New Players & DMs #8594; D&D 2024 (Easier onboarding, clearer rules).
Homebrew & Adventure Variety #8594; D&D 5E (Vast resources already exist).
Optimized Mechanics #8594; D&D 2024 (Fixes some of 5E’s weak points).
Long-Term Play & Future Proofing #8594; D&D 2024 (It will be the standard going forward).

My 5e24 Monster Manual should arrive February 20. After that, I may be able to offer an informed opinion.

In general, 5E is very balanced and more so than most earlier editions, but 5e24 does appear to fix some minutiae that didn't work as well as it should. Of course, it's still a little too early to say for sure since we haven't seen the Monster Manual yet. So if you're playing 5e, I'd choose 5e24. That said, I don't like all the changes, but overall, I'd agree with Wooly.

There is currently more material out for 5E14, but now that 5E24 is out, I'd expect everything to be written for it. Officially, of course, 24 is backwards compatible with 14, but if I was looking to get into 5E right now, I'd favor 24 over 14 for the simple fact that everything going forward will be for the former.

Some will say Pathfinder... ;)

Another might say 13th Age !

Thing that is different between the two is, honestly, the Character power level. 5e24 characters have a little more oomph than 5e14 ones. This is from things like everyone getting a Feat at 1st level, access to special weapon characteristics, more options and flexibility in classes and races. There are some nerfs, like the poor Paladin but nothing that's extremely drastic from one to another.

But suffice to say, if you run a 5e24 group of PCs through a 5e14 Adventure, you'll have to amp-up the danger they'll face or it'll be pretty easy, which is saying something since my experience has led me to think that a lot of 5e adventures were pretty easy*.

*well there was the bit about No More Room at the Inn from Hordes of the Dragon Queen but that was fixed I guess.

I know that but what I don't like about 5E24 is there is no room for Bastards in the core races, the main reason I've got 5E24 was as update for D&D setting and I wanted to see how woke it was.

Is it me or does each official Class picture of Vox Machina main party character?.

So this what I'll do I don't how 5E24 is compatible 5E14 but I'll keep Half Elf and Half Orc in the core race and add 5E14 version of 5E24 new core races.

5E24 is still brand new. The last core book hasn't even been released yet. It will be some time before people decide which version they like better.

Personally, I think they should have stopped at the Basic Rules and stuck to publishing adventures. But corporations...
