Links related to Forgotten Realms

You have heard that some of the information you seek exists in some books that are placed in the cellar, and the monks have told you to seek the strange thief hiding down there fore more information.

You walk down the stairs to Candle keep’s cellar, its dark and when you reach the bottom of the stairs you can hear somebody breathing in front of you.

The dark cloaked man hiding in the shadows in front of you says :Welcome to Candle keep’s cellar stranger, I hear that you seek knowledge of the portals also know as links. Here are the tome, when you are done with it, put it back on the shelf behind you. You turn around and see the dusty bookshelf and when you turn your head the man in front of you is gone.

This is a updated tread and some of the links are
taken from the old thread: (Links related to D&D and forgotten realms. Replies 78 / Read 3120 - Started 16 Oct 2006 )

Good afternoon all,

Ya'll have probably seen this site before: http://www.undermountain.org/bip.html

Halaster has opened up the book and wants new folk to join the forum esp those interested in 2e Realms Lore and UNDERMOUNTAIN. It'd be great if even a handful could join. He's been working on UM III for a long time.

Cheers.

I think the first one is listed. I've used it a lot, myself, and it's on my handy list of pre-formatted links.

That site is no longer active... But it's been mirrored elsewhere. Check out the TSR Archive (and specifically, the FR stuff published by TSR).

Under section 10, Deities, you can remove the Area51 geocities link, I stopped updating that site while I was in High School, and it's no longer a valid URL.

Nevermind about the generators. I found them all on that site. Doh.
ErskineF Posted - 11 Dec 2008 : 16:31:31
Jamis Buck also had a town generator and a NPC generator for 3e. I can't track them down on the web anymore, but they are/were great utilities. Enworld was hosting them, but they seem to have disappeared. Anyone know where they went?

I have some links to my website if you would like to include them in your list.

Yup, that's the one. That's an online version, but is otherwise identical to the little utility on the CD.

Looking at the file dates on the CD, I'd say it came out in 2001, maybe 2002. It's got a couple Dungeon adventures on there, both from May/June 2001. It's also got a pdf of the first issue of Dungeon. There are also pdf diagrams of the Millenium Falcon, an X-Wing, a Y-Wing, and a TIE Fighter. There's an article on how to build a monster. It's got the PC Portraits from Dragon issues 270-8 and Sage Advice from issues 274-280.

So it was likely included with Dragon somewhere in the 270-280 range. I can't narrow it down much further.

I'll be dipped if I can remember. It was many years back, around the time 3E came out, if not before.

I've seen the dungeon generator online, once or twice.

Oh, now that is a cool site! Some of those maps are really quite nifty...

I'm not the mapping fiend you are, but I do like pretty maps. I've still got a bunch to put up on eBay, but I've made a point of keeping several of the duplicate maps I've managed to acquire -- like the ones for Waterdeep and Undermountain.

Oh, and I still, every now and again, fire up the Dungeon Generator that came with the CD insert with that long-ago issue of Dragon.

Thanks Victor, but that was the first place I tried. Email keeps bouncing back as "user unknown".

Does anyone have current, working contact info on Karl Waller, the artist of Ruins of Undermountain? I've been trying to find a way to reach him for a commission, but no luck so far. I was hoping to find a link in the posts above.

Not to be rude, but what Realms novel(s) and/or supplement(s) did Aaron Allston write or contribute to? Don't get me wrong, I think that he is an excellent writer, but I was not aware that he ever wrote any Realms novels or supplements. I even went to his homepage and was not able to find one single Realms novel or supplement that he wrote.
