I am doing another map, this one for a Stonelands-based campaign. I've had to use all different sources because this locale is in between several others. Anyone know of any good references, aside from Elminster's Ecologies, Cormyr, and Anauroch that might help? I thought I remember something about the lizardmen of Tun in Serpent Kingdoms, but now I don't recall where.

My REAL question, however, concerns the small inset map that comes on the large Anauroch map that came with the product of the same name. It is a rather large area between the desert and Desertmouth Mountains containg two forests, several cities, and a lake! I can't find any references to those things in the product; is it supposed to be a map of the past?

This region doesn't appear on older world maps either, except for the Port of Mir (which is a ruin on those). I know the Lost Vale is in the northern part of this locale, where the Saurials live, but this more southern region is not discussed. The newest iteration of the World Map shows at least three major rivers dumping into this area as well, so it would make sense to me if there were still some fertile areas here. The band of non-desert on the maps is on the average 20 miles wide - plenty of room for something to be going on, and the area to the south is much wider. I realize that the maps have changed quite a bit (which is why I am 'correcting' things), but aside from that insert I have no idea what is in this region.

EDIT: After a quick look through LEoF, I realize that two cities, Amazandar and Anauril, were part of Anauria, ergo it must be a map of that fallen kingdom. I find it interesting that this kingdom fell by Orcs, not the encroaching desert. Considering the desert was stopped a mere 218 years later, and some parts of that area are NOT in the desert today (like the lake), would it be reasonable to assume some of the geography survived?

EDIT2: Which sourcebook had the blurb about the Phaerrim or Netherese diverting the narrow sea? I wonder if there will be a new map of Netheril in the upcoming GHotR? There are too many inconsistencies with the original.

Ah, Okay.
Like I've said before, I can't wait to see some of those maps. <drool>

Yes, Grand History of the Realms will have a new map of Netheril. The map of Toril during The Days of Thunder will show the Narrow Sea before it was diverted.

Found it - pg. 98 SK

It was the Sarruhk who rerouted the sea when fighting the Phaerrim, thousands of years before the Netherese appeared.

Wracking my brain on that question... I know I came across it recently (IIRC 't was the Netherese that reversed the flow), but can't yet recall...

No one knows the answer to the question in my second edit?
