Posted - 23 Nov 2006 : 15:04:26 How it came that Simbul's truename changed from AD&D 2nd edition to D&D 3rd edition? In "Seven Sisters" she is named Nethreene (p.36) and in FRCS she is named Alassra (p.281). What her name is, after all? |

You'll note that Seven Sisters does actually explain this.

Posted - 23 Nov 2006 : 15:39:46 "Nethreene" is Alassra's truename... like the rest of the Seven Sisters, these private names are known only to each of the Seven Sisters, Elminster, Khelben, Lhaeo, and several trusted members of the Harpers. These secret truenames are used in messages, communications, and guardian magics, and allow each of the Sisters to recognize each other without compromising any disguises.
Alassra Silverhand is the Simbul's actual birth name.
