Posted - 18 Jul 2006 : 00:21:08 My players have recently encountered a large library and now I'm trying to fill it with books. Rather than just giving them vague descripitions I'd like to present them with full titles and authors, preferably firmly grounded in the Realms. I've read over Ed's answers from August and December of 2005 that give a good number of examples. Does anyone know of any good lists of Faerunian books or books that might be found in a fantasy roleplaying game? |

You know what would really make that list truely awesome, if each book title was a link to a page that contain whatever Realms lore we know the book contains, if any. :)
Actually, we have next to no lore on any of those books. A lot of them, all we have are the quotes at the beginnings of each chapter of Ed's novels... Specific tomes, other than spellbooks, have never had a prominent place in Realmslore. |

There's a better version here at Candlekeep - I revamped Steven's list a while ago. It should be located somewhere within these halls.

Well met
Indeed, a splendid piece of work. As an aside, it may also be worth mentioning George's Song list and list of plays
The Sage also has a small collection of tomes listed here, for those that are interested.
Apologies, when it comes to books and lists, I can go on a on... |

Ah, okay... I shall add your list to my links, too. |

There's a number of good sources... One is the many opening quotes in each chapter of Ed's books. There are books mentioned in other novels, too, I've seen a few new names in Blackstaff.
But, perhaps the best resource, and one that is exactly what you want, is this one (posted long ago on the Wizards site): the Candlekeep Collection.
I love this collection.
Whenever I have the opportunity to drop a few of these titles into my campaigns, I do. It's always a pleasure to see these titles pop up in my FR campaign.
Of course, once Blackstaff does finally arrive and I've read it... I might have to get onto Alaundo about adding the new titles to the listing here at Candlekeep.
