Ethran A Rashemi witch in training.
Hathran A fully trained and accepted witch of Rasheman.
Dathran A witch of Rashemen that has been banished for using forbidden magics.
Durthan An alternate order of Witches within Rashemen that still seek to defend it, but who consort with evil spirits and may use darker methods.
Does all of that sound right, or did I miss a source that might have better defined one of those terms? |

When the names were first introduced (IIRC, in Spellbound), they were a rough approximation of the witch's level.
Ethran: level 1-2 Blethren: 3-9 Hathran: 10-14 Othor: 15+
This was, of course, completely messed up with the introduction of prestige classes.
FRCS shows hathran titles now of: 1st level Blethran - "sisterkin" 9th and 10th level Othlor - "true ones" amd have complete authority of all other witches |
