So we know that the reason the Imaskari kidnapped Mulan slaves was due to a plague that wiped out a huge percentage of their population. The plague is said to have mysterious origins.

Was Talona the source of this plague? Might they have offended her with their atheism? Or was it only that they didn't worship her? (Talona probably doesn't care if they worshipped other gods...)

Or might it have been their planar exploration caused some trespass into her planar realm? Or had their portal magic become a threat to her? Perhaps it was an Imaskari portal that allowed her rival Kiputytto entrance into the Realms...

There are a lot of mysterious plagues in the history of the Realms, and Talona may not have been responsible for all of them. But if not her, then who? And why?

The only other thing I could think of was a Dire Boar spreading E. Coli with it's tusks. But I think you have it right, Dargoth!

You know, the Imaskari were running all around the multiverse back then. Going to lots of strange places. Places with diseases they might not have had immunity to. I suppose that one of their planewalkers could have brought back something nasty from elsewhere and it quickly ravaged the population. It is conceivable the plague was not an attack from a rival group or god.

Hey, maybe that is what killed off the Aeearee too: some sort of avian flu!

Well, she does have Blightlords releasing all sorts of diseases around the east. I wouldn't be surprised if she is trying to branch out to keep up with the spreading worship of Loviatar.

Hmm Talona appears more aout suffering then killing, not that there is objection to a few deaths here and there.

As to who might have caused death the canidates can be a wide list. Any nature base deity certainly might be motivated to kill tree killers. Clearly dieties could traget followers of deity oposed, kill the followers and the deity might be weaken (though there is not a direct corrolation of divine rank based on followers).
