Posted - 28 Nov 2005 : 03:49:32 I'm pretty sure to have read somewhere in a 3E source that there is a temple of Tyr in Westgate, and I was wondering about the possible effects on the Night Masks.. but I don't remember where it was, can someone help me? (Maybe I just dreamed it ) |

That's not necessary.
Alac and I are working on another project on a separate message boards. I'll contact him there. Thanks for reminding me who was responsible for the write-up BTW... .

Well, this is actually good news. With the wave of natural disasters hitting our country lately I began to wonder if one of our regular scribes was without computer...or worse.
Good to know it is a self-imposed leave of absence. |

Not to be too terribly off topic but does anybody know where Sirius has been lately? He was a staple of these boards since I started coming here.

Don't be so sure. You would be surprised by what a master programmer can hide behind the extern void function .
Programmers have their ways, believe me... I know .

When was the last time this was updated / what the last product was that was included in the list?
I'm not entirely sure of the actual Earth-year the list was last updated, but I notice a number of temples mentioned in several novels and more recent FR sourcebooks (over the period of 2003-2004) are missing.
As I recall, the listing is relevant up to sources published to 1372 DR. Since we are now in 1374 DR and slowly heading into 1375 DR, the listing is nearly three game years out of date.
Perhaps I'll update it. Anyone interested in helping me with it?

And of course, for questions like these, scribes should always first refer to the comprehensive temples listing here at Candlekeep:- http://www.candlekeep.com/library/articles/temples.htm
Hello-
Well - this is a very useful scroll indeed, one that I had considered compiling myself! Does anyone know the following:
When was the last time this was updated / what the last product was that was included in the list?
Is there a reference to what source each of the references is from? I kinda guess the answer to this is no - as it would likely be included with the main list.
Thanks again!

Posted - 28 Nov 2005 : 04:19:34 Sorry Sage, forgot about that listing, even though I consulted it before to locate temples of Helm and Meiliekki . . . I was just checking Lords of Darkness to see if there was anything general about Westgate and decided to pop back in . . . |

Posted - 28 Nov 2005 : 04:11:29 There is a temple of Tyr in Westgate -- the Abbey of the Blinding Truth. 'Tis mentioned in Magic of Faerun.

Posted - 28 Nov 2005 : 04:11:13 Well, I was just skimming Masquerades, Cloak and Dagger, and the info on Westgate in the FRCS, and I can't find any reference to a Temple of Tyr. I know in the book it says that Durgar and his Tyrians showed up and started running the watch, but doesn't specifically mention them building a temple.
This actually led me to another question, rather than answer your question Skeptic, but who is the Croamarhk currently? Durgar the Just was the interim Croamarhk, but Westgate was suppose to hold free elections when his term was up, but now that the Night Masks have rebounded, I somehow doubt that this happened.
But no, I couldn't find a temple to Tyr anywhere in those sources. |
