Lady Evelyn paid the price for her treacheries, as had her elder brother: She was beheaded at Castle Waterdeep, witnessed only by Lord Emveolstone, Open Lord Baeron, and the executioner.[Lands of Intrigue p.34]
Lady Emveolroc is arrested by Ducat Eattel (Khelben). Mirt is then a young Masked Lord, and Shilarn and Baeron are still active.[Lands of Intrigue p.34]
Ducat Eattel (Khelben) “dies” in 1311 DR. Shilarn and Baeron die in 1308 DR. Mirt the Merciless is the newest Lord.
Lady Evelyn was executed no later than 1308 DR, before the deaths of Shilarn and Baeron, even though this was not several decades after 1295 DR, as stated in LOIT.
In what year was Lady Evelyn executed?
By the way, in what year did Mirt become a Masked Lord? |

Looking only at the info in your post, my read is that in 1295 her involvement in murders that happened decades before was determined. So 1295 wasn't the starting point, it was the ending point.
And I'd say that she would have been executed soon after, possibly in the same year.
That approach works for me, thanks. |

I would accept (1308 - 1295 = 13, perhaps 14 if "rounding" to the upper limits) as "several decades" if the writing were sloppy, if the fact-checking edits/revisions weren't consistent. Or if the error were somewhat intentional, written within the context of a rumour or an unreliable narrator. Or if these apparent inconsistencies were better explained in an adventure or story outside the text passages you're referencing.
I don't have this product so I have no perspective on its merits or flaws. This inconsistency seems like a bit of a typo/nitpick which could easily be ignored. |
