Sorry if this a bit out of date question but can anyone tell me which characters remained with the Harpers post-schism?

By "Characters" I mean actually known / published / written about characters because from what little I have managed to find out it seems like every character who featured in a novel (or similar) seemed to jump to the Moonstars.

Slight add-on: Which major Chosen (or equivlant) character chose to remain with the Harpers? Again from what I read all the major spell casters went over to the Moonstars.

Yes, the Harpers are one of five factions of 5th edition that feature heavily in Tyranny of Dragons, Elemental Evil and Expeditions.

Yes and no. 4E lore indicates they were disbanded, but then a new group claiming the title popped up, specifically to counter -- who else? -- the Shades. It's since been indicated that this was a bit of a ploy, and that the original group is still around.

Other than a couple brief mentions, the Moonstars are pretty much ignored after the end of the 2E era. It was pretty much just swept under the rug.

The only Chosen that were part of the Moonstars were Khelben and Laeral.

If you can find a copy of Code of the Harpers, you'll find a lot of Harpers listed. And the percentage of named Harpers who actually went over to the Moonstars is pretty small.

One thing I thought was interesting, with the Harper Schism... The Moonstar Agent prestige class explicitly stated that Harpers who became Moonstars did not lose the divine gifts that were given to Harpers. That means that at the very least, the deities that favored the Harpers did not oppose the Moonstars.

The eastern branch (led by Storm) pretty much ignored the schism. The western branch, inspired by Bran Skorlsun, went on a purge of 'disloyal' agents though those that had discovered the existence of the Moonstars attempted to rebuild bridges.

Yes Laeral and Khelben left because of the schism but Alustriel also left to concentrate on Luruar (though if you look at Seven Sisters I think it's clear that she would remain an ally of the eastern branch).

The 3.5 Waterdeep: City of Splendors sourcebook also contained a lot about the Moonstars. After that though they do fade away somewhat, probably because Khelben died, Malchor disappeared and Laeral went into hiding.

Wooly's right. I'm pretty sure that fewer than fifty Harpers left with Khelben to be Moonstars, and they were all his loyalists. He was setting things up for the events in the novel Blackstaff. So if you don't see their names in the Moonstars entry in Cloak and Dagger, it's a pretty safe bet that any known Harper was still a Harper.
