Hi everyone,
I'm seeking some information about what sorts of monsters would be found in cold, snow-covered icy regions. Anything that would be especially probable to make their home in mountainous areas of the above category would be a bonus. Beings that would be drawn to strange magical emanations while still being able to tolerate the cold climate would be especially awesome.
The "generic" list of creatures that come to mind for this type of environment are:
- White dragons
- Polar worms
- Ice trolls
- Yetis
What else, for mundane and magical? I also found something about a "snow cloaker" but I'm not able to find out more about this particular creature, only its Underdark variant.

Virtually any form of undead are fun to use in cold settings as well since they, um, don't feel the cold.  |

Also don't forget natural hazards! Avalanches, crevasses, blizzards, earthquakes, mudslides and rockfalls on mountains... and some of these can serve as traps, being triggered by intelligent hostile creatures even when the PCs are being careful.
Plus actual traps are possible, with those creatures. Spiked pits, logfalls if there are any trees around, and so forth.
White puddings, remorhaz, ice serpent (Monsters of Faerun).
There's also some arctic creatures in FR14: kupuk, tirichik, and a few special varieties of fish.

A wide range of humanoids is available too: gnolls, orcs, bugbears, goblins, ogres, hill giants, etc. |

Winter wolves, worgs, and various dire animals.
Frost giants. Some types of trolls, too. (edit: oops you have ice trolls already. I think there are some others that would work too, if they're living in caves... cave trolls, crystalline trolls, even mur-zhagul.)
Cryohydras.
Air and water elementals and mephits, ice para-elementals and mephits, plus the appropriate elemental creature templates.
You don't have to rule out silver dragons; they can handle cold temperatures especially if their lairs are inside a warmer cave and they just fly out over the ice/snow for food and exercise.
Climate is irrelevant for most undead and constructs, and many outsiders; they can be found anywhere.
In mountain caves, the possibilities expand quite a bit... orcs, ogres, goblinoids, dwarves... plus *any* underdark creature may come up from below.
If you ever want to really freak the players out, you could have them spot a xixecal (Epic level handbook pg 167) from a distance. It's a CR 36+ but it will be obvious that they don't want to mess with it, considering that it's basically a walking mountain, potentially with white dragons roosting on its shoulders.
