This is my first post on this forum so apologies if already discussed, but I was creating a half-drow for a playthrough and I was curious about who they might worship.

I thought about Vhaeraun or Selvetarm, but they're dead unless it's actually true that as long as someone worships a dead god they're not truly dead.

Anyway suggestions would be appreciated.

Because even evil has standards. But seriously, I never much liked Loviatar so I'd rather not have her.

Then why not Loviatar?

I always thought Selvetarm could be a deity of multi-racial beings alongside being an elven deity of war since if Vhaeraun was a deity of drow and Zandilar of most likely sylvan elves then wouldn't Selvetarm technically be a half-drow, a multi-racial being in itself?
IIRC, Lolth set up Selvetarm (then CN) - played "enemy of my enemy" and got him to "prove himself" by killing her next door rival Zanassu. He did, and of course absorbed the old guy's essence, which overwhelmed him. Lolth immediately put this to good (er, evil) use, and Selvetarm ended up as her errant boy before he figured out what's going on.
And the Aranea still venerate Zanassu, so it's his "inherited" alias.

I could have sworn E referred to him as her son in the Lady Penitent series. I could be wrong though.
This won't be the first thing in LP that takes a leap of faith away from pre-established lore without any rhyme, reason or explaining.

Lolth only has two children in the FR -afaik-: Eilistraee and Vhaeraun; Selvetarm is Vhaeraun's and Zandilar's (an aspect of Sharess) son. He despises Lolth, but for some reason ended up as her lover.

Selvetarm was Lloth's son I thought. Not that he couldn't also be her lover, genetics play no role in deific progeny. Personally, the Masked Lady (if you use her as a third front against Lloth as I do in my homebrew) would be a great fit for a half-drow.

If you want a deity that hates drow, I'd go with one of the Seldarine like Angharradh - the elven patron of fighters who originally formed to fight Araushnee (who became Lolth). I'd avoid Shevarash though - he's so anti-drow he might reject your character for being half-drow.

I thought Selvetarm absolutely loathed Lolth, unless that's something only she knows while his clergy believe he was her willing protector.

Yeah, that was kind of what I was basing it on since he's a fighter/ex-slave who hates the drow and their society so Selvetarm felt fitting.

That said, all Drow deities can fit a half drow, but (s)he could also worship any other god, depending on what theme you wish for your character.

Oh, alright then, reckon I'll choose Selvetarm.
