Do Doppelganger's have their own patron deity?

Is it a unique deity?

Or is it someone who is secretly another deity?

Is there lore on doppelganger society and history centralized somewhere here?

Much appreciated!

I positively love where you're going with this. Yes, Leira seems to be a perfect deity for dopplegangers. Mask too (screw Cyric). However, possibly the dopplegangers know her by an alias, and she's actually survived under said alias since her false demise (maybe something like Lairaehnoss). What a wonderful birthday present for me. Thank you.

See I figured Leira/Cyric/Mask would be to their liking. All human deities, however. Or, maybe, their patron may have been absorbed by Leira? Or it could be some other monstrous deity. It's interesting to think about.

I don't think they would need to be fanatics to have a patron deity...

If there were any deities the batrachi favored, I'd start there. Otherwise, I'd make up a minor power for them. Perhaps some amphibious shapechanger known for rapidly cycling thru different forms, a "Formless One" venerated by doppelgangers and mimics.

Actually... Maybe this Formless One is an existing Realms deity, who either absorbed the minor godling millennia ago, or who is using the Formless One as a false face to increase their worship, like the way Lolth is impersonating Moander.

Eberron was the only campaign setting to feature a god that the majority of doppelgangers worshiped. Faiths and pantheons briefly mentions the 'native' gods, who were worshiped by the creator races and their progeny (doppelgangers being creations of the batrachi) but like TBeholder said, they don't show any signs of fanaticism.

Doppelganger patrons can be quite useful!

As to having a special and common deity... Doppelgangers don't come across as fanatics and certainly have to be well acquainted with beliefs of the peoples they imitate, so... even if there is any, it's very unlikely to be exclusive. Probably a lot of them paid attention to Leira while she was alive, some to Mask, some to Shar. The usual.
