I noticed the following in a timeline:

–306 DR Year of Wan Shades: Shadows emancipated from their masters reclaim their identities and strike at Netherese undead across Faerūn.

I was just wondering what this might refer to as it isnt terribly revealing on it's own?

That will teach me to copy and paste the pdf into a word document that i can amend (it doesnt always copy the sidebars).

There is a side bar on page 50 in The Grand History of the Realms that explains this a bit more.
