Posted - 05 Mar 2011 : 09:32:21 I'm trying to determine up to what point the Living Forgotten Realms adventures are considered canon. According to Matt James (http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14568):

LFR content is canon up to a point. I don't know exactly which adventure it stops with, but as of FY2011 all LFR modules are no longer reviewed by WotC-- meaning the canonical integrity is removed at that point.
Is there an official WotC link to somewhere that states this? |

That non-reviewed adventures don't affect the overall realms doesn't concern me. I'm looking for the ones that ARE reviewed and therefore can be considered canon.
I do know that the ones coded CORE 1-10 or something like that are cannon (Matt said so IIRC).
Well, all scenarios from year 1 are considered canon. The same is true for all year 2 up to and including those adventures released in Q3 2010. However there are some problems. One problem is finding a complete list of Q3 mods. Second problem is not all of the adventures have been released. (I’m still waiting for a year 1 Tymanther adventure!) The last thing WotC bought & paid for was the Raven Bluffs mini-adventures released for 2010 Gencon.
The list I found for Q3 mods so far:
AGLA2-3 AKAN2-3 BALD2-3 CORM2-3 DALE2-3 DRAG2-3 EAST2-3 IMPI2-3 LURU2-3 MOON2-3 SPEC2-2 TYMA2-3 WATE2-3
This is how you read the scenario tag. The first part is the region, the next is the year, and the final is the adventure number. So WATE2-3 is Waterdeep (the region) Year 2, Adventure number 3.

Posted - 07 Mar 2011 : 01:47:09 There is an announcement to this affect somewhere on these forums.
It probably has an exact date.
Also, at least two of the people who were in charge of regions participate in these forums, so I would assume one of them will eventually chime-in. |

Posted - 07 Mar 2011 : 01:35:48 I was actually referring to the fact that while the authors were being paid, the adventures had tie-ins to the official lore of the Realms. Now that they're no longer being paid, that has changed. I guess what I'm really looking for is the name of the final published adventure where they still being paid. |

Posted - 06 Mar 2011 : 20:02:04 they are canon only if the DM wants them as such.
