Posted - 26 Feb 2011 : 06:17:35 Hi, I don't know if this is the right place for this question and I apologize in advance if it isn't.
There is this road that stretches between Damara and Impiltur. It is slightly east of the Monastery of the Yellow Rose. Does this road have a name? My campaign is set in the area and I cannot find the name of the road.
Also is there any published lore on the area east of the Earthspur Mts.? It's a nice piece of land with rivers and a lake. Perfect place for some action. I could make up my own towns and key locations but I'm a stickler for using the proper lore.
Thanks. |

Posted - 01 Mar 2011 : 05:48:15 The Forgotten Realms Atlas is actually pretty good. No longer officially supported, and evidently some of the download sites carry infected (trojan) versions. |

Posted - 01 Mar 2011 : 04:15:33 It disabled Malwarebytes.
Also disabled AVG and Combofix.
Then it disabled the Internet (which I got back by changing some settings). I had to download a free trial version of a pay-for Malware product, which only found the problem (or PROBLEMS - it was VERY active in the few minutes before I unplugged my ethernet cable), but wouldn't remove them without paying for the full version.
I then had to go through the list and manually delete everything, including a few registry keys. It was like doing friggin' surgery.
But I got it BACK.
Been checking out free hosting sites today. I needed to do that anyway, for two other projects, so all it really did was make me get my butt in gear (and give me a few hours of heartburn). Anyhow, it wasn't any of my maps - it was one of the ads. I got a pop-up saying I needed to update Javascript to run something on the page, and I stupidly clicked 'yes' (which is how I got the last virus - that one disguised itself as AVG). I have to learn not to surf when I am tired.
Lesson learned, I guess - you can't even trust a known site, if they allow 3rd-party ads.
Thanks for the follow-up, Wooly. |

I got a BAAAAAAD virus from viewing that map last night - it was embedded in a DevianART ad. I will be posting all my maps on a site of my own making from now on, and ALL of those will be taken down. About a year ago I had someone tell me about this problem, and I didn't really believe them (because I go there all the time and have never run into it before).
I still have the damn Virus - I am in SAFE Mode right now, and this thing is a REAL B***h!!! Its defeated at least 5 anti-virus/anti-Malware Apps I use.
Dammit, dammit, dammit!
Got rid of that link.
A lot of my coworkers really like a program called MalwareBytes. I also like using Autoruns to clean out various things running at startup (it's like a souped-up MSCONFIG). |

Thanks! Now that's a detailed map! I will definitely bookmark the page. Now, all I have to do is research the small towns shown on the map. I'll check out the search function. If Candlekeep has the lore I'm looking for, I'm might just make myself at home.
My obssession for detail might have found the proper outlet. Hahaha!
Mod edit: Link removed -- as an IT person, I'm not wanting any other machines to get infected. |

Posted - 26 Feb 2011 : 15:14:41 Thank you for your welcome.
Merchant's Run would make sense. I did end up making up a town on the road between the Imphras River and the other nameless one. I made the town double as a small stopover for merchant caravans and as an outpost on the edge of Impiltur. The plaguechanged roam the area and I thought that an outpost in that semi-wilderness would facilitate the trade between Impiltur and Damara.
This is all conjecture of course, the actual lore would definitely soothe my obsession for accurate details. |

Posted - 26 Feb 2011 : 11:14:19 I'm not sure if this is the road you are looking for but I know that there is one similar to the one you describe called Merchant's Run. If it's not the one someone will definitely correct me. As for your second question I have no idea.
Also I'd like to welcome you to Candlekeep. |
