Posted - 12 Feb 2011 : 23:28:00 As I was sitting looking for some Wards and guarding spells... I stumbled upon: Lefeber's Weave Mythal among other spells of 9+ level. Where in Fearūn would one go to find the spell discription of such a spell. I know that it can not be cast, but I was thinking merely the information and the discrioption, that would, during the time of Netheril have made it possible to cast it or learn it... Like a scroll or pages from a spellbook.
I was just wondering about these spells, where would they be???
Ohh.. and im talking about yeah 1372-1379 |

Posted - 13 Feb 2011 : 17:17:32 Your PC could go to Larloch, Arthindol, Telamont, or some other Netherese survivor. Or they could go to one of the rare powerful archmagi (like the Chosen/etc) who might know of this spell. Or they could travel back in time to Netheril itself. Or they could theoretically discover some ancient spell writing.
Technically, Mystras 2.0 and 3.0 allowed 10th level spellcastings under unusual circumstances (as described in Arcane Ages and other sources), though each such casting failed unless authorized by the goddess. |

Posted - 13 Feb 2011 : 00:58:45 The spell in question is a Netheril-era 10th level spell, and as such, is found in the Arcane Age: Netheril: Empire of Magic sourcebook. Its original name (Lefeber's Weave Mythal) is referenced on page 23, page 26 mentions its invention in 1741 NY in the Netherese calendar (-2188 DR by my math), page 121 mentions it on the Arcanist spell list under the "Inventive" and "Mentalism" specializations, while the actual spell writeup is in the Encyclopedia Arcana booklet on page 10.
The spell, which has a casting time of 3 days, covers a 300 ft. radius with a duration of permanent and seems to create what other sources (among them Arcane Age: Cormanthyr) would call a "Wizardly Mythal" as opposed to the more costly and more durable (Elven) "High Magic Mythals" made famous by Myth Drannor et al.
Hope that helps. |

Posted - 13 Feb 2011 : 00:43:53 Lefeber's Weave Mythal is detailed in 2E lore, Arcane Ages: Netheril (free Wizards download). A number of other 10th and 11th (and the only known 12th) level spells are also detailed in this and the other Arcane Ages sources. |
