I'm working on an elven-focused campaign right now, and I'm looking for some advice. I will be sending an emissary (one of my PCs) from Queen Amlaruil of Evermeet to the Aerie of the Snow Eagles (very nice work Scribe Arravis) to invite the Avariel to join the Retreat. As a token, they will be bearing a minor-artifact level holy relic of Aerdrie Faenya, I was thinking of using a Siver Trumpet similar to Celdoriath's Clarion from Weapons of Legacy, but I'm very open to any suggestions from my fellow scribes. What other items would be appropriate? I guess I was wondering if any passing mention was made of any such artifacts anywhere. If I do end up using the trumpet I figured it would summon a celestial servant of The Winged Mother, but couldn't find any reference to any of her servants in any of my sources either. Is there a better source than Monster Mythology? There wasn't much information in there. I did find a few helpful websites, but is there anything canon? I was thinking Trumpet Archon or maybe a Planetar because of the chaotic alignment. What other creatures do you think may be appropriate? And are there any named or detailed? Thanks in advance. "Johnny 5 need more input!"

Edit - Sorry, not sure where that last bit came from

Edit - Oh, forgot to mention that I will be using this as a hook to use the Icerazer module from Frostburn so that's where the planar ally comes in

Does anybody have the time or the inclination to help a DM out and talk this campaign through with me, either by email or chat? I'm trying to tie a number of disparate elements together, so it will take some explaining. If you are interested in helping me kick some ideas around, PM or email me. Thanks!

Archons are an odd choice, they are uptight:

Yes, both are in the full list, see it below:

The Seldarine call on agathinon, asuras, and ancient treants as their preferred servants, but Aerdrie is also served by aarakocra, aasimar, aasimon, air elementals, aerial servants, androsphinxes, asperii, atomies, avorals, azmyths, birds of all nonevil species (particularly eagles, falcons, hawks, kingfishers, and owls), cloud dragons, cloud giants, crystal dragons, djinn, eladrin (particularly bralani), faerie dragons, firetails, fremlins, frosts, griffons, gorse, hippogriffs, hollyphants, kenku, kholiathra, ki-rin, lammasu, lillendi, noctrals, opinicus, pegasi, pegataurs, phoenixes, pixies, reverend ones, rocs, seelie faeries, shedu, silver dragons, sylphs, spirits of the air, sprites, storm giants, sunflies, swanmays, swarms of grasshoppers or locusts, sword archons, talking owls, tempests, tressym, t'uen-rin, vortexes, windghosts, and wind walkers.

Since I play in the 2e, I don't know exactly which cretures you'd find converted to 3.5, but among the cretures listed as Aerdrie's servants there are birds (maybe a celestial Giant Eagle or Owl?), asuras, aasimon (deva, planetar and solar?), air elementals, aerial servants, androsphinxes, bralani eladrin, (celestial) griffons and hippogriffs, noctrals, (celestial) pegasi, pegataur, phoenixes, reverend ones (in avariel form?), (celestial) rocs, sword archons, tempests, t'uen-rin, vortexes, windghosts, and wind walkers, among others. There are also some faeries, dragons (cloud, crystal, faerie) and giants (cloud).

In this case, my suggestions would be the giant eagle (better than the griffon because it is intelligent), asura, deva, sphinx, or bralani. And, if they exist, the avariel reverend ones. I think the phoenix would be too powerful, just like a solar, and the other options are too lawful or "inhuman" ("inelvish"?).

Well, the divine servants of AF are listed in Demihuman Deities; I'd say avoral would be your best bet, unless you need something with more power. Since she's an elf Power, you can always go with eladrin or lillends, as well.
