I am not sure if this is accurate or canon knowledge sadly, which is why I am here.
I read somewhere about Elven Dark Walkers as being the Elven spies in Faerun. Those who are sent covertly to gather information on the kingdoms of the N'Tel'Quessir, or to serve as assassins if need be.
So here are my questions:
1) Is this true in any way? If not do such exist in any other form? 2) Where can I find knowledge on those Dark Walkers if they do exist(In some form or another)? 3) A Dark Walker's strength in my understanding is the ability to mingle and obtain knowledge skillfuly without arousing suspicion. One way to do so is by eavedropping on people. Now clearly Elven and Common are a must for him, but if he could choose two additional languages, what would they be? Could he know Orcish(I think it sounds absurd but perhaps there is some sort of presedence for such cases)?
Any other information could more most helpful.
Thanks in advance! |

I found some of the tomes made in the Elven project. They speak of something called the Elven Infiltrator which is quite similar to what I considered.
One of the questions that still remain, is it even considerable that an Elven Infiltrator will learn Orc so he/she could monitor Orcish camps and such? The reason I ask is because it always seemed very odd to me when Elves know Orcish or that Orcs know Elven... Is it possible?
I think it's more plausible for an elf to know orcish than vice-versa. Elves are certainly likely to spy on any nearby bands of orcs, and knowing what the orcs were saying is something that could prove handy. Orcs, on the other hand, would likely only know a phrase or two in elvish. Not that they couldn't learn the language, but with mostly oral traditions, a short and brutal life, and a lack of a good reason to learn, it's just not likely.
Scro, on the other hand, specifically learn elvish -- but that's because they like to insult elves in their own language. Scro are one of my fave evil races. |
