The following quote is from this scroll about the Sundering.

Pre-Sundering map? Is this referring to the map on p.6 of the GHotR? Looking at that map again, alongside the Toril map on p.231 of the 3E FRCS, the southwestern chunk bordering Mhairshaulk labeled "Primitive Human Tribes" looks a lot like the "Unknown Lands" south of Maztica... how canonical is the name "Katashaka" anyway? (Citations would be nice.) In addition, the "Aearee Enclaves" island looks remarkably like the island west of Anchorome and Maztica... but how did it get there, and where did Anchorome and Maztica come from? The Sundering, obviously, but how?

My question to the sages is: Does a map of all of pre-Sundering Toril (including Anchorome and the northern islands indicated in the map on p.231 of the 3E FRCS) exist? If the lands of Anchorome and Maztica were not part of the western part of Merrouroboros, did they break off the east coast of Kara-Tur? Or were they separate to begin with? And either way, how did the aearee island get to the other side of them? Even if all you can tell me is whose scroll to post this to in the Chamber of Sages, I'll be grateful. Thanks!

Edit: I was looking at the map in GHotR again, and I found Anchorome (called "Nadezhda" on that map). That explains the geographical questions asked above. This is what happens when my fingers move faster on the keyboard than my brain moves on the lore. Any more information on the lands to the east is always welcome, though.

Thanks, Brian! I'm guessing there's no pre-Sundering map of the regions to the east and south, or was that geography not appreciably changed in the process?

Katashaka is referenced by name in the Grand History on page 30 and in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide on page 43.

You absolutely correct, Nadezhda comprises the future landmass of Maztica and points north. The island of "Aearee Enclaves" is ultimately overtaken by dragons, forming the empire of Myrmidûne. This is mentioned briefly in the original Grand History PDF, as is the Batrachi realm of Zhoukoudien.

Other points of trivia to point out about the map: You can spot the Great Inner Seas before they were merged in the Tearfall (forming the Sea of Fallen Stars). Also, in the region of future Netheril you can see the Narrow Sea as it was before being redirected east/west by the Phaerimm (c. -33800 DR)
