Posted - 14 Nov 2008 : 01:39:07 I found a scroll a while back referring to an Excel spreadsheet (or other chart-type document) of named individuals in the Realms (or maybe specifically Cormyr)... and now I can't find it. I think Wooly was involved with the project, whether as compiler or host I don't recall. If anyone can help me find this document, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! |

Well, my HTML skills are far from l33t, but one thing I've found that can be useful is -- oddly -- Excel. Set up a couple columns with the info to be formatted, put all the formatting into other columns, do the HTML one time, drag it down, and then take the whole thing to Notepad or something similar and do a Replace All to remove the blank spaces. I did that with the Roll of Years page I showed you that one time, and I've done it with a couple of the pages that I keep locally for my own use. I even used that trick when I first added the "CK Catchall" section to my Linkies! page. |

Cool! It's not relevant to my current project, but I'm interested all the same. I'm reaching the limits of what I can do on my current project without a list of historical nobility until the Cormyr Lineage is released. I've been through parts 2-4 of "Lost Treasures of Cormyr" (I can't find part 1; my recent (post-CD compilation) Dragon issues are a four-hour drive away and the price of gasoline is prohibitive right now) and whatever sources I can find in PDF format, which aren't many right now; I have Volo's Guide to Cormyr and the 2E Cormyr pamphlet (because, really, that's all it is in terms of its size and the vast wealth of lore available for the Forest Kingdom) by Eric Haddock.
Once I've exhausted my resources for the Cormyr project, I'm tackling Tethyr next, then Impiltur. First, I need to find a cheap or free genealogy program that (a) allows display of the entire tree (as the one I have now does) and (b) allows customization of the calendar system and the use of negative years for dates (as the one I have now does not do). If there are any other genealogists out there who can recommend anything, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks! |

I'm not sure where the full file is, or why it's not on the site.

Edit: On a side note, I thought I remembered seeing a file that was specific to names of Cormyte royalty and nobility. If that's a figment of my imagination, no worries... if I had my 1E and 2E sources and the Cormyr Trilogy of novels, I'd assemble my own list in that regard. If anyone recognizes my description as not being delusional and can help me out, it would be much appreciated.
I used to have a link to a page that listed Cormyrian nobility... I wasn't sure how canon it was, though, and I got rid of the link when the site when down. |

Posted - 14 Nov 2008 : 07:06:07 Heh. The parts I can get at are impressive, Kuje, but it's not quite what I remember seeing. Still, I'd be interested in seeing the rest of it, Alaundo... Alaundo? Where are the rest of Kuje's NPC listing files? Or does CK need a new and bigger server to host the entire project?
