Just wondering here -- how do the clergy of evil gods (Malar, Loviatar, Talona, etc.) get along in/with non-evil nations that allow them to set up shop for whatever reason?

I remember that Malar is a popular deity in Cormyr. Now, Malar and his clerics are usually Chaotic Evil, and Cormyr tends more towards the LN/LG/NG end of things. How do the Cormyte priests of the Bloodgod manage to hold ceremonies without getting the law after them? The Malarites will have to buy, trade, and do the same things as everyone else does, but why do people even put up with them? Intimidation can only go so far.

To sum it up, why do the clergy of evil gods get welcomed in non-evil communities, rather than run out on a rail?

Malarite ceremonies happen in the wilds; the trade (though they're more self-sufficient than ordinary folk) isn't evil. As long as they don't anger governments and people enough to provoke persecution, they get by on grudging mutual understanding ranging to usually peaceful hostility. How priesthoods that are active in settlements exist alongside others is specific to their philosophies, and touched on in most sources that show them.

I am very certain that this has been dealt with previously by Ed, at least in relation to Mask and Cyric. There is a semi-secret temple to Mask in Waterdeep, which Ed wrote up in Dragon Magazine. A search of "Ed answers" may get you the information quickly, at least in regard to the first four whom you mentioned. I don't remember Ed dealing with Malar in Cormyr, but that is not a region of particular interest to me.
