I was wondering, how old age the Shield Dwarves can reach? Any information about the oldest dwarf ever in Faerun?

I relate that to the Elves - just like them, certain select individuals can choose to 'hang on' longer for the benefit of their community.
Humans, and other short-lived races, do not have this ability, because they do not have this sense of 'racial dedication' that the longer lived ones enjoy.
Just my take, for what its worth.
In my own version of FR/D&D, EVERY race is capable of this, but it takes Monk-like mystical, life-long dedication to one's race, almost like using one's race as a religion (also getting granted powers from it). It doesn't jibe with FR so much, but it does with core, wherein people can choose a concept as their point of worship.
I liked the idea of "High Men" from the MERPs game, so I borrowed it to create a group of secretive, long-lived humans that protect the others (a'la the Dunedain).
Of course, that all fell apart centiries ago, and now there can be only one.

No problem, Markustay, so I will check for you. 
To quote from Dwarves Deep, p. 43:
"Olimbis 'the Old', greatest sage of the dwarves, whose clear memory spans six centuries,"
That would be the information you recall, I assume?!? Very vague on the exact age but so be it. |

I'm not at home at the moment, by I re-read Dwarves Deep recenlty (looking for something), and I could have sworn there was a VERY old dwarf mentioned, around 600 years or so.

I wonder which would be the oldest known dwarven NPCs in the Realms? Or is this too specific-a-question even for the scribes of Candlekeep? :P It's a pity dwarves have never been detailed quite as much as elves and humans in Realmslore. I suppose it can be attributed to the lack/small number of powerful dwarven archwizards and other movers-and-shakers. |

The Players Guide to Faerūn on page 31 also states the maximum age of Dwarf (any) as 250 + 2d% years, so re-itterates the PHB. |

As far as the 3.x Edition is concerned neither the FRCS nor the Races of Faerun sourcebook state max. age limits for the shield dwarves, specifically. Therefore I would assume it is the same as given in the PHB, which is 250 + 2d% years (see page 109).
However, the 2nd Ed. sourcebook Dwarves Deep mentions on p. 7 that Faerunian shield dwarves are "the classic Mountain Dwarves described in the Monstrous Compendium Volume 2, under Dwarf."
Therefore the assumption seems valid to look into other 2nd Ed. sourcebooks, like the Complete Book of Dwarves for more info of Mountain dwarves. And 'voila': it lists the max. life expectancy of a Mountain Dwarf aka Shield dwarf as 400 years.
