Posted - 01 Feb 2003 : 22:34:56 I want to know if any one has beaten the game with Montaron and Xzar. If it's worth it, or if they are just a bother. Jaheira and Khalid have already slaughtered them once. But I plan on playing with them because of the Zhentarim influence; I'm hoping to get some Zhent content in my game. ALSO, if anyone has played the MOD:Dark Side of the Sword Coast. I want to know where the new npcs are and maybe where some of the areas and new quests are. THANKS MUCH, IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP. |

I have played through Baldur's Gate - Tales of the Sword Coast with every single NPC and Montaron & Xzar are definately worth it.
Equip Montaron with Drizzt's Mithril Chain +4, Dagger of Venom and Boots of Speed and you have got yourself a supreme assassin.
Have Xzar team up with Edwin, give each of them a Ring of Wizardry and no finer pair of mages shall aid you in your quest.
Besides, they are both very entertaining. And if you want an element of the Zentharim in your game, you must keep them.
Personally I do not like The Dark Side of the Sword Coast. It seems too concerned with powergaming, there are not really any interesting roleplaying quests.

Posted - 03 Feb 2003 : 15:38:58 If you plan to play BG2, maybe it's worth playing with Xzar and Montaron since you'll meet them in BG2. But i couldn't bear them so i ejected them from my group, so i don't know
And by the way, don't even try to handle the group if you heve Jaheira/Khalil and Xzar/Montaron! It'll be the hell. |

Posted - 03 Feb 2003 : 14:30:39 Hmmm...I ditched them once I reached Naskel in favour of Minsc and that Bard you get in Beregost - though I am planning on replaying the game now as an evil character (original one was Chaotic Good) and so will prob keep them to see what happens. What's this MOD you mentioned and where can I get it?Sounds interesting!! |

Posted - 03 Feb 2003 : 00:00:08 Well, I haven't played through either of those games you mentioned but if you go to www.cheatcc.com, sometimes you can find some good strategy guides that might help. |
