Hey, does anyone remember those 4 player D&D Basic arcade games? I was looking around to see if they ever released those for any console. I think I found them for the Japanese Sega Saturn, but since I am in America, and already have an old Sega Saturn, USA version, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find these items?

Its funny I think those two arcade games are better then many of the wannabe beatemups of today. Games like D&D Heroes, and BGDA just seem to be missing something. I guess when it comes to action games they have to be insane like Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry or they are just button mashers.

BTWI have been looking for those roms for years and cant find them. I could find a thousand others though.

Oh yeah, I have Adventure - it's the best game ever. What other game can you run around with a giant H and have some crazy bat come steal your items??? And where arrows (not bow and arrow, arrows, but a arrow) slay dragons... good stuff!

Which can also be emulated on your PC. ;)

First of all - Bat never came out in the arcade, it was on the 2600.

Second of all, I am not going to be buying the whole arcade game, I am going to be d/l an emulator to play the game on the PC.

I would sacrifice you to Lolth if you forgot to take the trash downstairs...

If we have room for a whole arcade game in this place we would have it. I don't think its the game so much as the practicality of owning it at this time. Plus if we were going to buying an arcade game it would be Bat.

Thanks! I am totally going to check those out. I just played one a couple of weeks ago at this old arcade by my house - I think it was Shadows over Mystara - it's awesome.

Wow, I never thought I'd hear of anyone else talking about these old, but great, games.
As Lucius suggested, it'd be easiest go with the ROMs and an emulator.
I believe a good place to learn all about them would be here: http://fantasyanime.com/emuhelp/index.htm .

Well, there is a store down by me that sells old arcade games, but I don't think my wife would too keen on me bringing it home. In fact, I think she'd sacrifice me to Lolth herself.

Is there a way that you can get the arcade itself?? I would LOVE to have that.

The roms used to be available for download on roms websites, but are pretty rare now. I do have them fortunately. heheh.

These are great games, especially Shadows over Mystara. It's a pity they don't make em anymore.
I'll be dressing up as the Green Mage D'Raven, with my partner, the Black Mage Syous, soon for an event this December. Show you guys the pictures then!

But one thing bugging me about the D&D:SoM, why both version of the characters have the same sex. Different spells is a good idea but i wish i can play a male elf.

www.romnation.com or try to search on google

Where can I get these ROMS and what is required on my computers? Any information would be helpful!

I don't think the Shadows of Doom is available in the US. I looked for it for a good long time and could only find the Japanease version. I don't think this was ever released over here much like Shining Force III part 2 and part 3. (which my hate for Sega knows no limit because of)

You know its something I've always wanted to look into, but since I have little experience with ROMs and Emulators, I am always fearful that they'll bust up my PC. Is there a good site to check those out and look for them? Any info would be much appreciated!

Yeah, that's where I've looked and found the Japanese versions... oh well, I'll just have to stick with the PS2/PC games for now. Guess I am just trying to recapture my youth!

I know the feeling. I made a point of tracking down a couple older games and consoles just because I loved playing them back in the day!

The bad thing is, I still bust out my PC versions of Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, and Secret of the Silver Blades.. and everytime I get to the second one, I get giddy b/c it lets me play a ranger.
