Does anyone have a problem were in some places, ie city sewers under temple district or in the sphere, when you check the map the game freezes or exits?

Really, really frustrating. Does anyone know where I could get patches to fix the bugs?

I had a problem in the Planar Sphere Mage Stronghold Quests

When I was sent back there & was told it was a set up- nothing happened- I was left in a sphere with a dwarf with a higher-than-thou-art attitude (no offence intendend to all who play & like dwarves)
I think it's a bug or something- would a patch fix it or is it something in the installation process?

Though I've never had a freezing in the sphere or the temple district sewers- I had at the end of the game- when your being congradulated for saving Suldenesselar by the Queen- I'm just left standing waiting for something to happen

I generally bring down iron golems via Lower Resistance and -- wait for it -- Magic Missile until my party acquires weapons with enough oomph to actually hurt them.

BG2 uses 2E, but incorporates a number of 3E concepts (monk, sorcerer, barbarian, "feats" that come as high-level abilities in ToB).

Get Baldurdash fixpack here; the official patches can be found here.

Was BG2 written to 3E rules. I thought it was 2nd Edition and didn't take account of weapon damage type.

I dont think the weapon a character uses affects if it can be hit by an iron golem. As far as I remember, with the protection from normal weapons and protection from magical weapons spells, the Iron Golem acts as a magical weapon and not normal.

As well, Iron golems, in others as well, always haste themselves at the beginning of a battle and cast small area affect poison clouds as well.

So to the bow, there are two possible reasons. Either the ammo you are using is not of high enough level, and it takes into account the ammo not the bow, or since arrows are piercing attacks the Golem's resistance is enough to shake off the damage. Remember, Iron Golems are weaker to crushing attacks, such as clubs and warhammers. Bladed weapons tend to do poorly as well. It could be any of those reasons.

Hope this helps

Havent noticed a porblem with mine, i also am replying the game. But i did put soa then tob then the last patch they made on top.

One thing i noticed, Iron Golems hurt people using +1 weapons, and the golem moves like its on haste.

Why does a elven bow +3 not hurt an iron Golem? Keep getting immune to this damage message. Maybe its the ammo that matters rather than the weapon.
