What with the numerous Baldurs Gate games, Neverwinter Nights etc, the Pools of Radiance didnt really come shining through that much, in fact i never even saw it in the stores! Just wanting to find out peoples views on this game. Is it any good and worth getting? I assume its in more of a style that Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance is, rather than the other Baldurs Gates\Icewind Dales etc. More action based than role-playing?!?

Thanks

Rad

Yeah, I had pretty much the same experience, but I bought it used for really cheap, and it came with the book, which I enjoyed reading, so I wasn't too disappointed.

with NWN it just drove me craze, it came out 13 months after the advertised date and there were twice as many problems as any other game.

Hmm, yeah. It also shows that gamecompanies not should rush their games out, before they have had a big closed beta test.

It's that sort of bugs that drive you crazy. I had gotten pretty far into the game.

Yes of course, but I used it too. The bug was that a character got stuck behind a door, so you couln't click him, very annoying.

I think you can find planescape in a budgetbox for under 15 bucks. Played it for awhile and enjoyed it very much until a bug got me. I had just saved in 1-2 slot all the time and couldn't stand to start from the beginning again.

Aye Rad is spot on in his description of Planescape.

It was one that we did take too much notice of in its original release. But the PC game certainly got my attention. It is based mainly in the city of sigil and the darker slums around the outskirts, but was in my opinion one of the best written scripts in the BioWare produced games.

If you can find it somewhere cheap or even ebay, give it a whirl!

Planescape is an AD&D campaign which was produced by TSR back in the mid-late 1990's. It has now been discontinued. The setting took place on the outer planes and in the city of Sigil. There are still many Planescape fan sites out there, try putting Planescape into a search engine if you wish to find out more.

despite all the critisim i still plan on buying NWN...i give em all a try atleast, some of the stuff looks cool , but i have yet to see it in person being played...just pictures...

but ill wait till the price reduces a bit.. no need to pay $60 for a game that will be $20 or $30 in a month or so...

Strahd Von Zarovich Posted - 27 Aug 2002 : 22:00:52
It seems like alot of the Realms games that are coming out these days are getting shelved by people quite early on.

I know one guy which has a very dusty collection old D&D games on his shelf ;-)

I still enjoy NWN though, despite what others have said on this forum it is still a damn fine game. And if people are getting problems with it, then make sure it is patched.

A little off the subject here but did anyone play Torment, which was a :: ahem :: Planescape game. That had a great story, nice graphics, and interesting characters.

I didnt enjoy the game very much. It's just hack n slash and very slow. The battles can take forever and it's not fun to combat orcs with ac 32.....
