Hi everyone,

I'm sorry if someone has already investigated this, but I saw this game called Tabletop Simulator on Steam and wondered if anyone knew anything about it. I haven't tried it yet, but as I understand it it could be used to make a D&D Pen and Paper style experience but virtually. I'm hoping this would be a way for me to play PnP D&D with friends overseas.

I'd be interested to know if anyone's heard of this game and explored the possibility already.

Here's a link to the steam page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/

It's possible to build dungeons with it and then you could move figurines through these dungeons. See here: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bi5dkk6CIAAwhGt.png:large

What do you all think?

Ah well. I certainly hope WotC wouldn't do that to these clever people who've had a good idea for a game.

If I decide to buy it, I'll let you know how it goes.

Like most people probably would, I'd really just love a new NWN but it seems that's a way off... and if it ever comes I probably won't like it because of 4th edition rules.

Derivative art isn't subject to anything WotC is going to try to touch. A winged beholder is nothing like a beholder you see...

It could be used for that but it would be fiddly unless you could anchor all of the dungeon tiles.

I'm more concerned about the winged beholder model they have in the game. WotC could get litigious about that.
