I recently received a copy of the first Icewind Dale game (I know, I am WAY behind) But I can't seem to get past the prologue. I do all the little favors in town that I could find, I cleared out the caravan-raiding orcs, and delivered the supply list to Poomab. Then when I get back to go talk to Hrothgar, my game locks up, and it takes my entire system with it. I have started again, with a new party, and it didn't help. I uninstalled and then re-installed the game, and that doesn't help. I'm getting pretty ticked off...
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, did you find a way to fix it? |

Anyway, I found out the problem. The last owner had scratched it, and used clear nail polish to "fix" it.
He won't give me a refund. caveat emptor, I guess.
Besides buying another copy, does anyone know anything that I might do? |

God. I know that problem, too. Just to me it allways stopped after I had defeated That odd Chrishenebon-wielding-priest-guy. Wich, naturally, pissed me off, as that it the last chapter of the game, and I was never able to complete it, untill I did who-knows-what and it suddently happened.
Oh well. Good luck |

I've never had this problem with IWD, patched or unpatched, on any system I own. But since we all know how variable a system can be, I guess I won't be of much help. Do try the IWD forum at Interplay.com, though. |
