Hi there TROD, this is Gandalf from SG finally with my own CandleKeep account .

I hate applemacs and so have never played it but I did play the Gold Box line and they were pretty tacky but cool for the vintage value

Actually Drummerboy, there were a few more FR computer games created by SSI that I didn't mention - mostly because I didn't play them. In addition to the gold box series there were at least 6 other titles set in the realms:

Eye of the Beholder I, II, III - a first person (Doom-style) combat game.

Dungeon Hack - really more of a toolbox to create you own adventures a la the current Neverwinter Nights set.

Menzoberanzan - an adventure based in the sdrow city of the same name.

Al-Quadim - an arabian nights adventure

Blood & Magic - a really wierd campaign style game supposedly set in the Utter East that had almost no tie-ins to the Realms other than the logo on the box.

Most of these games can still be found. A few years ago there was a set called "The Forgotten Realms Archieves." that had 4 cd's with at least 12 or 13 of these games on them. However, running the games on my pentium was a bit of a problem. The speed of my machine was so fast, that you could never follow the action - even on the slowst speeds.

TROD,

If you're talking about the gold box line of computer games from SSI that were set in the Forgotten Realms (Pool of Radience, Hillsafar, Curse of Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silverblades, Pool of Darkness, Gateway to the Savage Frontiers, Treasure of the Savage Frontiers, etc.) then, yes - I sure did. I loved every minute of them on my old 286. They were some of the best CRPG's of their day.
