Posted - 12 Apr 2010 : 19:51:44 It has been pointed out by several folks that some facts in Baldur's Gate I and II don't quite add up. 1. Gorion's letter says that the Charname's mother died in childbirth. Also, that Bhaal roamed the Realms during the Time of Troubles. 2. The scene with baby Sarevok & Gorion & Alianna in ToB says Gorion killed Alianna to save Charname and that Sarevok had run away by himself. 3. ToB further says Sarevok remembers his mother 4. Cernd says Bhaal walked the Realms BEFORE the Time of Troubles 5. The prologue says you spent 20 years in Candlekeep and that it was your childhood. What about elves or other long-lived races?
The biggest obstacle is the timeline! 1369 DR - Baldur's Gate 1358 DR - Time of Troubles That's 11 years, folks! The only thing that adds up here is Jaheira's age. 1369 DR - Baldur's Gate 1340 DR - Alemandarran Interregnum, Ten Black Days of Eleint; Jaheira is born That's 29 years... What's your take on it? As far as the prologue, well they assume your character is Human and there was probably lack of communication with the programmers. That or it simply got overlooked (notice they also pronounce Faerun wrong....just like Ilmater is pronounced wrong in Dark Alliance. |
