A friend of mine who doesn't play any more is sending me his Core Rules 2.0 and the FR Interactive Atlas. I didn't think he still had them so I was a bit surprised to hear I was getting them.

Here's my question; Has anyone installed them on Vista and are there any problems? I thought I would possibly have to do like I did with Diablo and run it on an earlier Windows version ( The Vista option to do so). Or should I just plan on putting it on my Wife's XP machine?

I'll check that out. I also have a problem with updating the atlas. It turns out that when I received the disks they were his back-ups. He lost the originals in a move and just sent me those with the promise he'd send the originals if ever found.

I tried registering the software in my name to show I now owned it with no luck and when trying to update it won't let me since I do not have the originals. I think I am stuck but hope I can get around this.

Don't know, I'll be honest, I don't use the mapper that came with the core rules too much.

You could just take a screen shot (print screen) and paste it into an image editor and then crop out the unneeded stuff.

BTW.. the Atlas comes with a mapper too. If you put the CD in and open up Windows Explorer and go to it, you'll find there's a directory and installer on there for the mapper used for the Atlas maps.

That worked but I cannot access the help files. I called him to see if he still had the manual and no dice. So, can I export the .xpx files from the Map Maker as a .jpg or similar?

Hmm odd. Right click the icon, go to properties, advanced, and check run as admin. Try that. I don't have any problem with the mapper. 100% working in vista. I'm on win7 now and have it working too.

They came in and work fine except I cannot save my map( Core Rules mapper). It says the access to the index was denied.

Help!

I've no problems with the Core Rules. The Interactive Atlas doesn't open straight to the maps, but once you click on 'Okay' and then go to the maps directly, it should work fine.
