Couldn't she return at a later date, well at least when the soldier gave up looking? Surely it would be obvious to other nobles that a well known merchant noble family was missing one of its members? Wouldn't that seem suspicious? |

Hi, Blah99,
She was a mercenary and frequently away from the homestead. Though I never explicitly stated it in the novel, it is assumed that the family covers for her absence by explaining that she is away fighting.
