Im just coming to the end of book 2 of the Empires Trilogy - Dragonwall and im very impressed and pleasantly surprised by this novel. I just wondered what everyone else thought of this trilogy and in what order your rate the three books? Is book 3 (Crusade) even better?? |

Ah, the Empires Trilogy. A great set of books. They had it all Great writing, Great characters and great point of views. I would defiantly recommend them. |

I could get you multiple copies of the Moonshae trilogy in the city where I live. If I had money I would actually probably pick some of them up. I have every FR book to date now, but I didn't treat my books all that great when a I was younger and because of it many of my books need to be replaced. Some FR books that were really hard to find, The Feathered Dragon, book 3 of the Maztica Trilogy, Horselords, book 1 of the Empires, Red Magic, book 3? of the Harpers series.
I can't however find Book 3 Planar Powers of the Planscape bloodwars Trilogy or Book 6 The Ultimate Helm of the Spelljammer series....not exactly FR but the worlds of all three do cross in a few novels. |

Well, so much for luck in finding anything new. I did (finally) pick up the Songs and Swords version of Elfsong, just for completeness' sake. I wouldn't suppose there's any difference between the Harpers version and the Songs and Swords version?
Oh well, better luck next time. I'll have to find a few new places to raid, I guess... seems that all the other local spots have been cleaned out already. |

I have this, although it was purely by accident that I found it. A close neighbour was moving and was throwing out some old books and other assorted reading material, when I happened to pass by the boxes on the front of his house, which contained the books. I noticed the words 'Forgotten Realms', and was immediately intrigued. Anyway, long story short, my neighbour didn't realise the value of this product and was getting rid of it, so I decided to avail myself of this rare opportunity. What a find!.

What I meant was, that in Australia, FR novels are normally hard to find in bookstores, especially ones that are as old and out-of-print as the Moonshae Trilogy

Really? I think that a used bookstore I often go to has copies of most of Niles' FR books. I usually ignore those, since I already have them, so I don't know exactly what there is. But that's not the only store around here to have them, I think. |

I'm setting out on an "adventure" tomorrow morning to search local repositories of ancient tomes to see about filling in some of the holes in my collection. I'm not expecting to find much, but you never know what you can find if you don't go look. I finally found copies of Wind Walker and Condemnation this afternoon, though, so perhaps my string of luck will carry over till tomorrow.
The Empires Trilogy novels are amongst my targets, as well as The Moonshae Trilogy, The Druidhome Trilogy, The Maztica Trilogy, and The Twilight Giants Trilogy. A smattering of Harpers novels, the remaining eight Double Diamond Triangle books, Once Around the Realms, and Murder in Halruaa are the targets, so here's hoping that Tymora will shine her luck upon me and I can get one or two series closer to getting up to date with the collection. |

i know this is of subject but...
where did everyone find the Empires Trilogy? its out of print to my knowledge and impossible to find except online
or maybe everyones had these books for years...i dunno, but i really would like to get my hands on this trilogy |

Thanks for your opinions, quite varied. Im looking forward to starting Crusade. I suppose id expected the last book to be the best as its likely to have the most flavor of the Realms, being that Horselords (book 1) was heavily based on the mongol culture and Dragonwall (book 2) on oriental culture. I suppose you have to slightly detach yourself from the Realms and just appreciate the story and the writing. |

I really enjoyed the whole trilogy, although Dragonwall was probably the book that I thought was the best of the trilogy. The 1st book, to me seemed to introduce the Eastern Realms quite well, and the 3rd book brought the trilogy to it's logical and thrilling conclusion.
I found Koja of Khazari to be my favorite character of the whole trilogy.

Actually I thought the 2nd and 3rd books were the best. I loved the crusade! That was a good book. I really didn't like the short story though. The scribe is kind of a pointless character without Yamun Kahun around. I am just not interested in average characters with no struggle.

Books one and two were best IMO. The third book didn't seem to get into much detail. Kind of a hurry up and finish the trilogy type of deal, I thought. There's a short story in one of the "Realms of" books about the scribe. |
