I'm looking for all books about the drow that are out there.I've read some of the Drizzit books and the WOTSQ series. What else is there? I really like the dynamic that is drow life. I'm really looking for more on what it takes to become a priestess or wizard, what trainging they go through and the like. Any help would be appreciated. |

You'll find enough drow in Starlight and Shadows trilogy, and you'll recognize how a drow character could became "good"! Elaine Cunningham did a fantastic job with the describing of a character's process through evil-to-good and development into a strong character. |

Aside from the Drizzt and Liriel books, there isn't a lot. In those two series, the books that really "focus" on the underdark are in no particular order...
Homeland
Exile
Daughter of the Drow
Legacy
Starless Night
Siege of Darkness
Then there was the Realms of the Underdark Anthology, which had a number of tales also in the underdark. Additionally, there was the War of the Spider Queen series, and if you can find them there were the old 2nd edition game supplements Drizzt's Guide to the Underdark as well as the Purple Boxed Menzoberranzan Set and Drow of the Underdark which all had quite a bit of information on the politics and life in Drow cities and culture. Beyond that I don't think there is a whole lot of info on Realmsian Drow floating around out there. Some would argue that the stuff that is out there is too much, but if you are like me then you can't get enough Drow.
Oh yes, the new Thomas Reid Trilogy on Alisza and Khanyr Vhok will likely feature the underdark prominently though I doubt it will focus on Drow cities, although it wouldn't suprise me to also see the Jezzred Chaulsin play a prominent role in the books as well. Lisa Smedman's series on Halisstra "the Lady Penitent" will likely feature surface drow prominently, and specifically the followers of Eilistraee. Hope all of that helps. |

While both Liriel and Drizzt are drow from Menzoberranzan who went to the surface, that's about it for the similarities. They are distinctly different characters, and quite different stories. |

While a lot of the book does revolve around Liriel's travel to the surface, the begining of the first book deals rather extensively with Menzoberranzan and Liriel's training there, and the second book deals with Skullport as well, so its not all Liriel travelling in the surface lands.
The Windwalker does definately revolve around the surface and Liriel interacting with the people she meets there. |

The Dark Elf Trilogy does feature Menzoberranzan quite prominently (if you haven't read it). Other than that you'll most probably only find novels about surface drows. |

The Realms of the Underdark anthology has a varied selection of drow stories and other Underdark-related tales.

Looks like a female Drizzit series where she leaves the underdark to go to the surface, was hoping for someting that would stay underground more. I still might check those out though. |
